A few weeks ago I received this product compliments of Influenster for reviewing purposes. I have to say that I am highly impressed. I think the part that impressed me the most was that this product really does help you achieve a more even skin tone. Pond's BB Plus promises to help with this in as little as two weeks and it really does help! I also really like the fact that it includes SPF 15. I have very fair skin and burn easily so it's always a plus when a product contains a little SPF. Have you tried this product?

Boyfriend Material: Boyfriend Jeans
Posted by JessicaA comfortable and trendy fashion item are the boyfriend jeans. This slightly baggy jeans are so comfy and stylish. As with anything you need to find the perfect fit. You do not want your boyfriend jeans to be too baggy or too short. For me the length should really come almost to your ankle. Too far above and they look more like capris. These go great paired with a tee and some flats or paired with a blazer and heels. Personally, I love pairing the more masculine jeans with a feminine top. I know some people love boyfriend jeans and some hate them. How do you feel about them? Here are a couple of my favorite pairs:

Posted by JessicaOne question I get asked all the time is "What made me decide to be a teacher?" I have always wanted to be a teacher. In the second grade I wrote my "What I Want to be When I Grow Up" paper on wanting to be a teacher and math has always been my favorite subject. I enjoy getting to help others understand things they are having difficulty with and I love watching people learn new things. It's just a perk that I am the one getting to teach them these new things. I also delight in watching my students problem solve their way through a difficult problem and seeing their triumph and satisfaction over mastering the skills and concepts.
One thing that gets to me though is that some people think teaching is an easy job- that anyone can do it and that the only reason anyone becomes a teacher is because they were not skilled enough to do anything else. I'm sure you've heard the saying that includes, "those who can't, teach." People who believe this do not understand what all a teacher has to do. On school days I am at work by 7:30 in the mornings and the final bell does not ring until 3:00.
During this time I work with anywhere from 16 to 25 kids at a time for a period of 50 minutes each. I am on my feet teaching, assisting, supporting my students as their mathematical knowledge grows. I work hard and I make my students work hard. I make them work from bell to bell. I make them think and problem solve. I make them explain how they arrived at their solutions and why they did what they did. I don't believe in giving my students free days or free time. I believe in giving them an education and the knowledge that will help them succeed in the future.
This does not include the time I spend planning and creating my activities. The time I spend grading papers with feedback and inputting grades into the system. This does not include the time I spend after school tutoring students and coaching activities. This does not include the time that I spend going to school activities to show my students support or the competitions that I take my teams too.
When I think back on my favorite teachers. They made me learn and they made me want to learn. They made me work hard and then they pushed me to work harder. I bet if you think about your favorite teachers, you will realize they were the same way. Right?

Delicious! Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cake
Posted by JessicaIngredients
Cake:
1 stick salted butter, softened slightly
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 eggs
1 box butter cake mix
2/3 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
Whipped Cream Frosting:
2 cups cold heavy cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
8 fun sized Butterfinger candy bars, crushed (about 3 regular bars) plus additional bars to garnish the top of the cake
Peanut Butter Ganache:
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup light corn syrup (or honey)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325. Spray two 9 inch cake pans with nonstick spray and set aside.
2. In the bowl of your mixer, cream the butter and peanut butter until smooth and combined. Add eggs one at a time and mix after each addition. Then add vanilla. With the mixer on medium low, add cake mix and water alternately, starting and ending with the cake mix (I did this in 5 additions starting and ending with the cake mix). Spread batter in pans and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until tops spring back when lightly touched in the center. Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn onto a baking rack to cool completely.
3. Place metal mixing bowl and your mixer's whisk attachment in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Once metal bowl has chilled, prepare whipped cream frosting: Pour cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar in mixing bowl. Beat on high speed with whisk attachment until thick like whipped cream. Fold in crushed candy bars (these I crushed really well). After this was finished I put the bowl of topping in the fridge for about ten minutes to give it a little bit of time to get a little firmer.
4. To make your ganache: In a microwave safe bowl, combine cream, peanut butter, and peanut butter chips. Heat for about 2 minutes, stopping to stir every 15 seconds until melted and smooth. Stir in corn syrup (or honey) and set aside to cool slightly. Or you can use a double boiler on the stove top for this part. When you have everything combined remove from heat. It will look too thin, but after you give it a few minutes (for me it was more like 5 minutes) it will be thicker.
5. Assemble cake: Place one cake round on a plate, flat side (bottom) facing up. Spread whipped cream topping over top and place the other cake round (flat/bottom side up again) on top. Frost completely with whipped cream. I went ahead and did this before I even made the ganache and then placed the cake in the fridge. Spoon ganache on top, spreading to the edges and letting it drip down the sides. Then place in the fridge. Garnish with additional crushed candy if desired (I waited until after the cake had been in the fridge a bit so that the ganache could harden a little before placing this on).
**Remember** to store the cake in the refrigerator. It is actually better the next day!

Home Decor: Bedside Tables
Posted by JessicaThe bedroom is the room in a house that you should be able to absolutely and completely relax and unwind in. One staple in any bedroom is the bedside table. What's on your bedside table? The essentials for mine include a lamp, clock, a book, and my favorite fragrance, which happens to be Honey by Marc Jacobs. I know that I just recently purchased it with a gift card I received for my birthday, but it has become my favorite scent. My current reads are usually stacked up there. Other great items for the nightstand are a vase for beautiful flowers and a cute figurine. I really love those golden animal sculptures featured below and would love to have the horse. I also love this lamp. My current nightstand is made of maple wood and features green items. In the future I would love a bright colored nightstand like the teal one below and I would love to accessorize it with gold or silver metallic items. What do you think?

Underneath It All
Posted by TracyWhat to Wear: White Heels
Posted by JessicaIn the past white heels have been a fashion faux pas. Now? They are perfect for Spring and Summer. White heels seem to offer a sense of crisp, freshness to Spring or Summer look. They can be professional or fun and work with any outfit. Jeans, a cute dress, a business look- they work with it all. For this reason the #whattowear look this week focuses on white heels. You can go plain white heels or look for something that has a little more flair to it. A colorful heel is excellent with white heels. Gold or Silver cap toes on them is just darling. I love the pair below with the subtle details on the heels. So what are your thoughts on white heels? On Thursday I will be providing you with some beautiful options for stylish for less white heels.

Color Crush: Lilac
Posted by JessicaOne trendy color for Spring and Summer has been lilac. This softer version of purple has always been one of my favorite shades of the color. I just wish I saw more items in this color when I am actually out shopping. While I love looking for things online and getting ideas for what I want to purchase, I still love going to the store (or the mall) to see the item in person before purchasing. Which do you prefer? Online shopping or actually going out? Below are some beautiful lilac items that I have found online. What are your thoughts on the color?
