Brownies with Caramel Topping

We got this recipe from Cooks.com and made a few changes to it. It is very rich and chocolately.

Ingredients 2 sticks butter
10 tbsp. cocoa
4 eggs
1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
1 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
50 caramel candies
8 tbsp. milk

1. Cream butter and sugar, add beaten eggs. 2. Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder together, then add gradually, stirring until smooth. 3. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch pan that has been greased and dusted with flour or cocoa. 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Or until toothpick comes out clean. 5. Melt caramels in a sauce pan with 8 tablespoons of milk.
6. Sprinkle nuts over brownies and pour caramel on top. We couldn't wait for them to cool before digging into them. We served ours with whipped topping. Yum!
