This winter I have not seen much snow yet. I always wish for a snowy Christmas, because it just seems more Christmas-y if there is snow on the ground. This year I didn't get a white Christmas though. Thinking about snow though had me thinking about my footwear. For me in winter certain types of shoes are a must. I need shoes that are going to cover my feet and keep the snow out. Hopefully they also get my feet warm. So on my winter footwear list are boots for sure. Any kind of boots will do like knee high boots, calf-high boots, even ankle boots. If I am going to be wearing heels in the winter they are going to have to be wide heels like block heels not skinny heels. On ice and snow I need shoes that are going to let me stay balanced- no skinny heels are going to do that for me. Other than boots and block heels, but I also need flats like oxfords. Some of my winter shoe choices are below.
These are fab...winter shoes can be tricky as sometimes they look horrible, but I quite like these!! The boots and ankle boots are lush. Have a great weekend dolls x

I love winter shoes..and I accumulate at least a few every year because of end of season sales. I just can't resist. I'm actually wearing something similar to the camel colored tall boots w/heels....It's just tough to walk around in them outside because there's still some ice left over from the last snow storm....that's my only gripe so far. I do need some ankle boots...I'll be on the look out!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great guide! I agree, so important to have great winter shoes when you live in colder climates. Although it only snowed once when I lived in Rome, it was so cold and there were many many rainy days. With having to be on foot and commute, great winter boots were a must! Plus I love the look of winter boots :) The riding boots you posted here are beautiful!

Come visit us in Sweden for the snow:) xo Caroline
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to wear some sparkly shoes. :) Now that the weather is slightly warmer and snow is melting, only pair of shoes I can think of is rubber boots ! :D Must go sale shopping for some good but ugly, waterproof models I guess :D

I love your winter shoe choices! I learned the hard way that skinny heels + "real" winters don't mix! I moved from Florida to Minnesota so didn't know what to expect my first winter. But I quickly learned that icy roads and sidewalks are almost deadly when you're teetering around in 4 inch heels!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those silver glitter oxfords- so much fun! I've been wearing my flat suede ankle boots a lot this winter because they are so comfy and go with everything. However, when it gets snowy I'll have to switch to something more substantial!
ReplyDeleteI love the one with the studs on the front en the zipper.
ReplyDeleteLove the sparkle lace up flats.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I'm strange lol I wear flip flops in the house durring the winter and then before I go outside or leave the house, I switch to boots :) It's a weird balance of shoes for me lol

Uggs have been my go to shoe right now.
ReplyDeleteI always struggle with the transition to winter (being a summer girl at heart) and loathe parting with my ballerina flats. I got from those to ankle boots to knee highs to knee highs with warm wool socks underneath them... and the entire time I'm wishing for ballet flats and jewelled sandals!
ReplyDeleteThis year, my go-to boots have been my ankle and calf high boots. And, because I live in Vancouver, gum boots seem to be the way to go! I just scored on a pair of dark olive green Hunter boots!
