On The Menu: Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese

Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese
Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese Recipe
When we got to try Sargento Ultra Thin Cheese Slices courtesy of Influenster I automatically knew it called for some type of grilled cheese. I eventually settled on whipping up some sloppy joe grilled cheese sandwiches to serve up with lots of chips and baby kosher dill pickles for a casual lunch get together that accompanied a movie watching marathon. These sandwiches were a messy (in the best sort of way) hit. Everyone raved about how delicious they were and declared we would have to have them again soon.

Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:
Your Favorite Sloppy Joe Mixture, I used this recipe substituting in veggie crumbles
Thick Slices of Bread or Kaiser Rolls
Butter
Sargento Ultra Thin Cheese Slices, I used Colby-Jack and Cheddar

Directions:
1. Allow your sloppy joe mixture to cool slightly.
2. Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter.
3. Place half of your bread slices buttered side down on a large griddle or skillet. Top with a slice of cheese, a couple large spoonfuls of your sloppy joe mixture, and then another slice of cheese. Then cover with remaining bread slices butter side up.
4. Turn grilled on low and allow to bread to brown. It takes about 5-7 minutes. Flip the sandwiches over (be careful so all of the deliciousness doesn't fall out) and allow the other side to brown about 5-7 more minutes.
5. Serve and enjoy.
