The Run for the Roses

Started in 1875, the most exciting two minutes in sports, The Kentucky Derby or The Run for the Roses had an audience of around 10,000. Today the race has an average crowd of 150,000. Before the race you hear talks about the Owners, Trainers, and Jockeys; but the real stars of the day are the horses. The twenty horses are prepared, trained, and just taken care of in general so that they will be at their best during the 1.25 mile race. The horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby 2010 are Lookin at Lucky, Icebox, Noble’s Promise, Super Saver, Line of David, Stately Victor, American Lion, Dean’s Kitten, Make Music for Me, Paddy O’ Prado, Devil May Care, Conveyance, Jackson Bend, Mission Impazible, Discreetly Mine, Awesome Act, Dublin, Backtalk, Homeboykris, and Sidney’s Candy. Dreams came true for many people today during those two minutes of race time.
