This would be the perfect treat to put together during this holiday weekend for a late breakfast or brunch. It only takes about 25 minutes to make but looks extremely impressive and is tastes very decadent.
Ingredients: 12 cinnamon rolls
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 cups Granny Smith Apples, peeled and diced into small pieces (about 2 large apples)
1 cup walnuts
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to the temperature on your cinnamon rolls.
2. Combine your diced apples, walnuts, and brown sugar together in a bowl. 3. Spray a cupcake pan with nonstick spray and evenly divide your apple mixture in the pan. 4. Place a cinnamon roll into each cupcake hole cinnamon side down, pressing it down into the apples.
5. Bake according to the time on your cinnamon roll package. If the rolls are not a golden brown wait another minute or two before removing from the oven.
6. While your cinnamon rolls are baking put the icing in a small bowl and whisk together with 1 1/2 tablespoons water. This will help the icing become a little thinner so it will be easy to drizzle over the hot cinnamon rolls. We also added about about a 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and a 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg to our icing. 7. Remove your cinnamon rolls from the oven and being careful (these are very hot) quickly flip the rolls out onto a flat surface.
8. Drizzle the cinnamon rolls with the icing and eat up!
