Goals For The New Year

This year instead of creating unattainable resolutions for myself I have put some thought into establishing a few goals that are within reach. With a little effort I should be able improve the upcoming year and make it a little healthier, happier, and fulfilling.

Goal #1: Eat more fruits and veggies.

Should be easy for a vegetarian right? I currently struggle with eating enough fruits and vegetables because I feel like I seldom have any free time to prepare them. After long days at work I often come home and reach for the first thing I can find the put in the oven or microwave. This year I want to set aside a little time each week to prepare healthy meals and to even try a few new fruits and vegetables.

Goal #2: Read More

I love to read but again, I often say I am too busy to find the time. This year I want to read 12 new books, which equals out to 1 book per month and only a few pages a day. Anyone should be able to find that time to accomplish that.

Goal #3: Ride a Carousel

I have developed a huge crush on carousels during the last few years. I have even collected a few little ones that are now scattered around my bedroom, but I have never in entire life actually been on a carousel. That's going to change this year.

Goal #4: Travel Someplace New

I love to travel but always find myself returning to the same places, this year I need to be a little more adventurous and schedule a vacation someplace I have never been before.

Goal #4: Organize and Maintained Organized My Closet

My closet is currently a disaster zone. I am positive it would take at least a week to organize and clean it out. I think cleaning out my closet and working to keep it organized throughout the year will help me save time getting dressed in the morning and also help save money by keeping me from purchasing some unneeded items.

Have you established any goals for yourself for the New Year?

  2. Such good goals - I'm resolving to do more "me" reading. I'm already averaging about 8 books or so a month but they're almost always academic books for work...I need more fun novels in my life!

  3. I definitely agree that I need to eat more fruits and veggies, and just eat better in general. And organizing my closet? How about organizing my whole bedroom! Since it's been my Christmas gift hideout, it's a hot mess with wrapping paper and random other Christmas items scattered around it. ;)

  11. these resolutions are definitely attainable. i would love to be able to travel some place new this coming year as well. that would be really exciting. i also want to be able to maintain my organzied closet. i always clean it but then i always end up messing it up as well.
