Strawberry Crisp

I have always had a huge love for fruit crisps. Warm desserts are just the perfect end to a great meal. This dessert is sweet, comforting, and completely delicious with or without a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. The fact that it is easy to make and can be put together and in the oven in a matter of minutes makes it ideal for entertaining.

1 1/2 cups white sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
6 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup rolled oats

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. In a large bowl, mix white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, and strawberries. Place the mixture in a baking dish that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.
3. Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, brown sugar, butter, and oats until crumbly. You may want to use a pastry blender for this. Crumble on top of the strawberry mixture.
4. Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until crisp and lightly browned.
