Chit Chat: Morning Person

Chit Chat
It's confession time. I am not a morning person. Definitely not. Every morning my alarm goes off an hour before I need to leave for work. I turn the alarm off and most of the time I get up and drag myself into the living room, where I collapse on the couch to semi-watch semi-sleep through part of the news. I said "most of the time" because one day this past week I turned the alarm off and fell back asleep in bed with the alarm in the my hand. I woke up 30 minutes later still holding the alarm. After semi-watching semi-sleeping through part of the news, when a bathroom comes open I go to get ready, brush my teeth, wash my wash, that kind of stuff. Then I go back to my room and get dressed, brush my hair, and grab what I will need. Remember earlier how I said my alarm goes off an hour before I need to leave? Well in that hour I bet I spend approximately 25 minutes getting ready for the day. So definitely not a morning person.
After leaving the house I go to my car and drive to work. During the 20 minute drive I sing along to my music that I blare to wake myself up. I get to work awake and ready to go after listening to my music. Before then I am like a zombie. I have even arrived at work before and as I am getting out of my car I think, "Did I brush my hair this morning?" Seriously, I have thought this because I couldn't remember if I did or not. In reality it has only happened once. Yeah, sadly it has happened, but just the one time. I learned my lesson though and now carry a small brush in my bag.
So I am clearly not a morning person. Are you a morning person, a night owl, or something in between?

  1. I don't mind the mornings. I'm only grumpy if I'e been woken up or I haven't gotten enough sleep, but I love mornings or evenings. I never drink coffee or any of that either. But, trying to get everything organized in the mornings can be annoying!! I hope you have a great week dolls xx

  2. I can't do mornings, I need at least an hour and lots of coffee to be able to cope with them. On the other hand I can stay up all night and work without a problem. Thanks for sharing your fashion views with me...Have a great start to March!

  3. I'm not a morning person either but since I got in the habit of waking up early for work, I'm no longer a night owl. I used to stay up till 2 or later in college, but now I'm pretty much asleep before 1 and up by 7.30/8.00am every day!

  4. I would say I am somewhere in between I like to get up around 7 but generally get up around 8 am. But mostly due to not being able to sleep. I suffer from hormonally induced insomnia and have since my teens. My grandmother had the same problem. I prefer going to bed earlier and getting up earlier but my body has other ideas.

  5. Ugh.... totally not a morning person, but I'm not a night owl either! I just hate how long it takes to get ready some days......... and I don't always particularly look forward to going to work ;)

  6. I am in between. It truly depends on how much rest I get. Admittedly I've shown up to places wondering if I brushed my teeth. Gross!

  7. Haha! That's too funny that you forgot to brush your hair. At least you were dressed, right? :) I'm definitely a morning person. My mind is more alert in the mornings so I can get my best work done. I also like it when the house is quiet and I can enjoy a cup of tea in peace.

  10. Haha brilliant!

I'm not the best morning person, but once I'm up, I'm up and I can get on with stuff. Although I can quite happily fall back to sleep on the train to work ha.

    Hmm maybe...

  11. I don't like initially getting out of bed, but after that i'm pretty ok in the mornings. I'm definitely not a late night person - I can't concentrate on work and usually fall asleep if i'm watching tv.
