I never really had any interest in art work until recently. I contribute my new found interest in prints, paintings, photography, and drawings to the art classes Jessica and I have been taking. So far Jessica and I have attended several classes (with hopefully more in our near future) that have resulted in us creating 3 paintings each. While mine definitely are far, far, far from professional I kind of love them and I am proud of my creations. Now I am itching to start a collection for a gallery wall. I few pieces of art that I love are above including my current favorite.

DIY Confetti Art

DIY Confetti Canvas
DIY Confetti Art
My pictures do not do this easy DIY Confetti Art justice. To be such a simple and quick craft it is truly stunning. It only requires a few supplies and costs only a few dollars to make. Plus in only about 30 minutes you have a beautiful piece of artwork. I chose metallic gold and glitter gold card stock for my confetti but you can choose whatever colors compliment your decor. I had initially made my confetti canvas to place in my office but I after loving the outcome I placed it on my bedroom dresser instead.

Card Stock
Rubber Cement
Large Hole Punch

Directions:
1. Use your large hole punch to punch holes from the card stock. A 1 inch or 2 inch hole puncher should work depending on the size you want your confetti.
2. Play around with the placement of the confetti on the canvas.
3. Once you are satisfied with the confetti placement, lightly coat the back of each confetti piece with rubber cement and adhere to the canvas.
4. Allow to dry completely.

SS Print Shop

Bonjour Print / Peonies Print / Hello Print / The Mantra Print

In my never ending search for pretty prints for my office and bedroom I discovered SS Print Shop. SS Print Shop is full of pretty prints. Four of my favorites, including this and this are pictured above. The shop also includes charming holiday prints. I am very partial to the Mistletoe print in black. Where do you purchase prints for your home?

Origami

One artistic related topic that I am very interested in is the art of Origami. Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into shapes such as animals, flowers, people, or other objects. Right now I can't really free hand anything when it comes to origami. I have to have the instructions right in front of me. I recently purchased a couple of EASY origami kits from the local dollar store. I bought two different kits an airplane one and an insect one. My friends and I were able to make the butterfly, lady bug, and praying mantis in the insect one, but it was still kind of difficult for us. We haven't even attempted the airplane kit yet. I can make a crane though, but that is probably the easiest thing that you can make in origami. Another thing that I like about origami other than all of the different things you can make are that no two have to be alike. For example if my friends and I were all going to make cranes we could use different sized paper or even paper of different colors or designs. Origami paper does not have to be plain! It can be very detailed and very patterned. I love the origami paper that I have pictured above. Here are some cute origami pictures that I found online:
