Almost everyone who has ever been a bridesmaid has dealt with shilling out a lot of money for an unflattering dress that will never be worn more than once. Enter Lover.ly to the rescue. Lover.ly (think Pinterest for wedding planning) has become the ultimate source for all things wedding related including finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses. Lover.ly has partnered up with Eva Franco to launch a collection of vintage inspired dresses, separates, and jumpsuits for brides and their bridesmaids. The collection launched last week and would be perfect for upcoming spring and summer weddings.

Lover.ly knows what brides are searching for and struggling to find so their new collection Eva Franco for Lover.ly fills in all of those gaps. The soft color palette, romantic fabrics, classic silhouettes, and special touches such as pockets and scallop hems made me instantly fall in love with every piece of this collection.

Best thing about this collection is that these items will not be pushed to the back of a bridesmaid's closet and forgotten after the wedding. Bridesmaids will reach for these items over and over including for romantic dinners, cocktail parties, and when they are guests at other weddings. Four of my favorites from the collection are pictured above.

Not forgetting about the bride Eva Franco for Lover.ly also has several options for the bride who is not looking for the typical ballgown dress or wants something extra special for the rehearsal dinner or to change into for the reception. The ivory, halter jumpsuit pictured below is ideal for the fashion-forward bride.

I would love to know your thoughts on this new collection Lover.ly.

Wedding Shower

Sorry, that I don't have a recipe to share this weekend, like we normally do. This week has been very busy at work. In the evenings Tracy and I have been getting ready for out little sister's wedding shower, which is today! So no recipe this weekend, but hopefully some pictures of the wedding shower decorations and food will follow later. I hope everything goes well!

Bridesmaid 101

Tomorrow I will be a bridesmaid in a wedding. One of my best friends Trisha is going to be married! I am very honored that she asked me to be a bridesmaid, it is the first time I have been one! Seeing the actions of a couple others, who were asked to be bridesmaids, I have realized that there are some people out there who desperately need advice on how to be a good bridesmaid. I have narrowed it down to 5 main things to remember.

1) Compliment the bride constantly. We all have our insecurities and on her wedding day and during the planning, the bride should not be focusing on them.

2) When you agree to be in wedding, be aware that you are also committing to buy your dress and other necessities. My bride choose a dress that was definitely cheaper than I thought it would be, but two bridesmaids did nothing but complain about the cost.

3) Be supportive. The bride is making a lot of decisions about what she wants HER wedding to be like, do not insult her decisions.

4) When the bride takes you to try on the dresses she has narrowed down to for the bridesmaids, pick the one you like the best and endorse it. Do not tell her you hate them all and then start trying on other dresses. Remember it is her wedding not yours.

5) Do everything you can to make this easier for the bride. This is a stressful process making all the decisions, dealing with complainers, and getting everything done for the big day.

What are your wedding experiences?
