Yesterday I planned to spend a relaxing day. My big plans included spending a couple hours doing some actual work followed by a date with my DVR and catching up with some of my favorite blogs. Instead my sister Tiffany called in a panic state because she lost the diamond in her engagement ring. Tiffany was stuck at work and could not leave. Jessica and I spent the better part of the morning and afternoon retracing Tiffany's steps in an attempt to find the diamond. We were unsuccessful. Fortunately, one of Tiffany's coworkers late this evening found the diamond in the parking lot where Tiffany works.

Tomorrow it is back to work and I am seriously not prepared. I am just feeling tired and in need of a break lately. Any tips on being more upbeat and getting over this slump?

I got my hair cut recently. I ended up not getting as much taken off as I had originally planned and I am now really happy that I didn't. I have been so many great styles that I want to try out in the upcoming holiday season that require a longer length. I tend to be someone who just goes with the slightly messy/wavy look in the mornings but I am ready to up my game. Above are 4 styles I am going to try out soon.

Holiday Hair Embellishments
Tomorrow is my last day of work before I take off for a little Christmas break and I am so excited for the start of a two week vacation. Everything has been such a whirlwind the last few weeks that I don't feel like I have adequately gotten myself in the holiday spirit. I am ready to spend a few days doing nothing but baking, listening to Christmas music, wrapping gifts, and wearing sparkly clothes.

I am the worst when it comes to styling my hair. It is almost always worn down in loose waves or up in a low bun. For the holidays though I am going to try to kick it up a notch while still keeping it simple. Isn't it amazing how pretty just adding an holiday inspired accessory can make a no-fuss hairstyle look? Something as simple as just adding a red ribbon looks so festive.

How will you be styling your hair for the holidays?
