What to Wear: Stripes on Stripes

Lime and White Striped Top - Black and White Striped Blazer - Black Skinny Jeans - Spiked Gold Bangle - Yves Saint Laurent Bleu Majorelle Nail Polish - Ted Baker Bow Blue Clutch - Black Flats

What to Wear: Stripes on Stripes I am a huge fan of prints and wearing multiple prints at the same time. Stripes just happen to be one of my favorite prints. That's why this week's #whattowear is wearing stripes with stripes. When wearing multiple items with the same print, my rule is to wear them in different colors or different sizes or both. I think this top and blazer go perfect together. With a bright, bold color like the lime and white top I like to wear neutrals like the black and white in the rest of this look. For another pop of color I chose the blue because it looks great with lime. Do you like to wear stripes with stripes?

What to Wear: Stripes and Polka Dots

Stripes and polka dots are two very classic prints. They also happen to be my favorite two prints. Floral prints come in at a close third in my book. My closet is filled with items that have stripes or polka dots. I have always worn the two separately. Recently I have seen so many beautiful pictures on pinterest and on other blogs of mixing the two together. I have to say that I love this. On my last shopping trip I purchased a beautiful striped shirt with a sheer polka dot layer on top! It is my new favorite.
This new found obsession has led me to have this #whattowear post o mixing patterns. Specifically mixing stripes and polka dots. What are your opinions? Do you love stripes and polka dots? Separately, mixed, or both? Here is my suggestion:

What To Wear: Mixing Florals And Stripes

I have been trying to embrace mixing patterns. Today #whattowwear features two of my favorite patterns for mixing. During the Spring and Summer I cannot get enough of florals. I love this leather take on a floral skirt. Pairing the leather floral skirt with a classic striped tee and great accessories like these pansy studs makes for a fun, chic look.

Walk The Line

Since starting this blog I have devoted effort to adding pattern to my wardrobe, which was virtually nonexistent before. In fact I just purchased a new polka dot dress and striped top. Here I discussed my love for a mix leopard and polka dots and while my fondness for these two patterns has not lessened I have a new love. The girls above make mixing florals and stripes look effortlessly chic. A floral skirt with a striped top or a floral top with a striped blazer makes for a perfect combo. I am now inspired to get some more wear out of my Summer florals before putting them away this Fall and maybe even picking up a floral skirt in a darker color palette so I can continue with this pattern combination long after Summer has ended.

Stripes are simple and classy. They can instantly jazz up a boring solid colored look. You can use stripes to mix with patterns and ad different colors to add a more unique fashion taste to your looks (like the girl in the top photo, I love the colors).

Look One
If I owned those shoes I would want to wear them all the time! I love the aquaish blue color in this look and paired it with gray/silver. The little robot clock necklace is adorable.
