When One Door Closes...

When I enter someones house, one of the first things that I always notice are the doors. It isn't just the entry doorway, but the other doorways or doors in a house can really add detail and personality to a room. I love to see doorways that are unexpected or unique. Sometimes it is a surprising color or details that add that little something extra. Below are some pictures of doorways that I find absolutely beautiful.

I love the unique shape and intricate details of this first door.

These glass doors with the metal details are a great way to let in more sunlight.



The unique shape of the entry into this room is so beautiful.



This next one is so pretty because of all the purple plants around the entryway.

This bookcase door is so unexpected. It is like a secret door.

Does your home have any unique doorways? I would love to have a bookcase door like the one above in my future home. Perhaps leading into a library?

    No unique doors in my house :/ But we're thinking about painting them a different color than our walls, so that would add a bit of personality, no?

    Oh wow... I am totally inspired! When I get to build my own home, I would totally go all out on doors! Growing up, I remember having this humongous 12 in thick, 10 square foot door. It had etchings and was a dark, dark, mahogany. It was gorgeous.
