Fall Home Updates
Sunset Protea Wreath / Gold-Rim Wineglasses / Tartan Dinner Napkins (tartan!) / Brass and Copper Candlesticks / Fox Door Knocker (love this!) / Blonde Wheat Stack / Lanterns / Magazine Rack / Gold Wishbone / Geode Bookends / Driftwood Side Table / Gold Leaf Lamp / Wrap Pendant / Dried Herb Garden / Bowl with Servers / Antlers / Gold Leaf Rim Dinner Plates / Agate Catchall (a great gift) / Cooper Chair (this is great) / Topiary / Leather Trays / Gold Bowls / Green Napkin Rings

Can you believe it is already November? It is incredible how fast days are just flying by. Looking at my calendar yesterday I realized how soon Christmas would be here and that I do not have a single free weekend until after the holidays.

We promptly took down our Halloween decorations yesterday. I was a little sad to see them packed away. I had really started looking forward to seeing the purple and orange lights every night and my fireplace is looking a little plain today without the crows on the mantle and the faux bones scattered inside it. After putting my Halloween decorations away I realized that the only fall (not strictly Halloween) decorations I have are a few pumpkins and a leaf garland. I have noticed in the last few weeks that some people have already started decorating for Christmas. I love my Christmas decorations but I hate the thought of skipping over an entire season and an entire holiday.

I spent some time last night looking for a few fall home updates to help my home feel a little festive until it is time to bring out the Christmas decor. This wreath would be perfect for greeting guests when they arrive and I could not love this adorable fox door knocker more. Do you decorate for fall and Thanksgiving?

Splash of Color

Splash of Color

Corner Deli Print - Moonstruck House Print - Pink Chevron Pillow - Golden Print Pillow - Floral Cut Pillow - Gold Leaf Pig - Kivita Coasters - Gold Twig Umbrella Stand - Magnolia Blossom Paperweight - Pineapple Candlesticks - Pink Jane Austen Book Set - Metallic Gold Book Set - Shaggy Pink Pouf - Gold Bar Cart

When I think about having my future home, the first thing I think about is the rooms that I want. Rooms like a master bedroom, a huge kitchen, and a big living room with lots of seats for guests. When I think about these rooms I always think about what they will look like. In my mind the rooms are constantly changing because I just can't make a definite decision about any of it yet.

The colors are always changing in my mind, right now I think I would like mainly neutrals with splashes of color. I can see my living room/sitting room being mainly white but with pops of color. I'm not sure how you feel about all white rooms. To me they are very calm and serene but if everything is white it can be a little bland and boring. I would want a few pops of colors. In a white room like the one above I would add touches of pink and gold. A few colorful prints on the wall, a pink pouf, a few pink and gold throw pillows instead of the white ones, and maybe a gold bar cart to add in color. I think it would give the room just enough color to make break the white up a bit. With only a few pieces of pink and gold the colors would really stand out against the white. What are your thoughts?

I have just received several new items for my kitchen that I love, including a Kitchenaid mixer. I have had a Kitchenaid mixer at the top of my wish list for years but had held off on purchasing one because they are pricey. I was incredibly surprised when I received one for my birthday last weekend. Now I cannot wait to try it out and I am looking forward to spending even more time in my kitchen in the upcoming months.

As I am looking forward to heading into fall I also want to pick up a few more new kitchen updates. Fall to me means spending more time entertaining friends and hosting family dinners. It would be great to have some pretty new additions like these napkin rings that I am crazy for and since I have recently gotten into baking homemade pies this marble rolling pin that is absolutely beautiful.

Have you done any redecorating lately?

6 Easy Tips to Make Your Patio Pop!

6 Easy Tips to Make Your Patio Pop!
So officially I have been on Summer break from work for two weeks now. Those two weeks were busy with my beach vacation to get away from everything and relax. After getting home from my vacation I have tried to get caught up on everything I had started to let slide around the house because of the surplus of work hours. Now though, I am ready to kick back and enjoy Summer before I have to start working again next month. During the warmer months I love to have friends over to socialize with dinner, games, movie nights, or just to hang out and talk on the patio with some cool lemonade. The patio or porch is a great place to spend your time in the warmer months, so it should be warm and inviting. I think that to beautify this space you need to utilize color. So here are 6 simple tips to make your patio pop!

Tip One // Seating: A lot of patio future I see is black or brown. I see a lot of black wrought iron and brown wooden furniture. Break away from these colors by giving these items a good painting. Here is a great tutorial for painting wrought iron.

Tip Two // Throw Pillows: You can always add some padding to your seating with some decorative and colorful pillows.

Tip Three // Bar Cart: A bar cart or a side table in a bright color would be great for displaying or holding whatever drink you are going to serve.

Tip Four // Rug: A beautiful rug can really liven up a space. Choose a bold color or print to really make the rug pop.

Tip Five // Flowers: What's better than natural beauty? Choose some pots in varying sizes and beautiful colors to add some nature and some beautiful flowers to or around your patio. You can even buy cheaper pots and then paint them the colors of your choice.

Tip Six // Decorations: Choose decorative accents to accentuate your space. Maybe some lanterns in different shapes and sizes in vibrant colors. You can even add some tealights in them to make them useful.

When the school year ends for me, my siblings and I are off to Florida for 9 days. Dreaming of the beach also has me loving seaside inspired decor. When I think seaside decor, I think navy and white. I think rope. I think clean lines and a few ocean inspired pieces like the starfish and the coral lamp above. What about you?

Beautiful Printed Wall Papers

Beautiful Printed Wall Papers
I have an enormous fondness for wall papers. In my future home I want at least one room that has beautiful wall paper in it. This wall paper will be a beautiful print. Perhaps it would be a great floral print, a forest scenery print, or maybe even a gorgeous animal print. I want beautiful colors in this wall papers. Then I would pick a color from the wall paper to and have a few colorful items in the room like a beautiful colored chair. The majority of items would need to be a neutral color. I believe that will a colorful wall paper too many other colors or too much other colored items in the room would be too much. What are your thoughts?

Incorporating British Design into the Home

When we purchase a home, the next big decision is how to style it. We usually ask ourselves what style we like or are comfortable with, as well as what style will look good and bring out the best features of the home. There are many designs and styles to choose from, among them being British design.

Features of British design

When it comes to interior design, there are various types of British design, each with its own unique features. There is the modern interior design style with features including clean lines and a primary focus on function. In terms of furniture, textures and colors, this style incorporates minimal textures, neutral colors with singular bold color accents, and furniture and accessories in bold geometrical forms.

There is also the Georgian interior design style, which features delicate furniture with ornate carvings, gilding and piercing. The fabrics used are usually luxurious, while the patterns and colors are kept subtle.

Another British interior design style is the Victorian style, which is described as luxurious and opulent. This style is known for its excessive use of flamboyant and ornate furniture, decorations and accessories.

Differences between modern British interior design and modern British design

While modern British interior design refers to the manner and style of decorating the interior of a home, British design refers to the architectural design of the homes. The design of modern British residential homes tends to be an updated version of the traditional Victorian or Tudor-era homes. The houses tend to have two living rooms, a kitchen, two large bedrooms upstairs, and a third smaller bedroom that is self-contained. The houses also usually have a garage.

How to make your home more “British”

Some ideas of how to incorporate British design into your modern home include making it as comfortable as possible. You can do this by having two small sofas, rather than one large one, so as to create cozy conversation areas and corners. You can also have a sofa in the kitchen, upholstered window seats, and measures to stop drafts such as curtains.

You should also reduce formality to a minimum by having some quirky and eccentric accessories such as a pendant light that is slightly off-center, or a collection of chairs that are mismatched. You should also seek to have a splash of bold color in your home, preferably in warm shades such as pink, yellow or orange.

Due to the small size of many British homes, the British tend to value storage space. In your home, you can incorporate furniture with added storage; this could include chests that double up as coffee tables, storage ottomans, a kitchen with open shelving, and slim bookshelves and cabinets in the hallway.

British home and interior design comes in various styles that allow you to choose what best suits your tastes. Thus, when seeking to incorporate British design into your home, be sure to follow the above tips, while adding some of the best of British accessories that reflect your own individual personality.

Floral Prints for the Home
It's no secret that I possess a deep fondness for floral prints. Really it is for all things involving floral prints. It would be dresses, pants, or even home decor. With Spring here and looking forward to Summer, I am excited for all the flowers to bloom and be beautiful. Now, my allergies are not so excited but I am. This time of year I think it is especially wonderful to have a few touches of floral print in your home. Even during the Winter this print can help you get over your Winter blues. Personally, I would love a room with beautiful floral wall paper in my future home. For now though, I will settle with smaller amounts of floral prints. My favorite item here would have to be this. I just love the print and colors so much. The green is stunning but I love the pink roses and daisies on it. I would love a vibrant pink chair to place one of these in. Or a couch and I could have several of these along it! What do you think? How do you feel about floral prints in your home?

If you too are a lover of all things related to floral prints, you will also love this this post for floral print clothing under $50.

All of these home items would be perfect touches to help you get ready for Spring. The best part is that each item costs less than $25! Unbelievable, right? Decorating for Sping

Decorating for Spring
Well, the weather may be horrible here but it is March now. To me March means Spring is just around the corner. Even though we still have some snow on the ground and there is no Spring like weather outside, I have been thinking about ways to bring Spring inside the house. With all of the Christmas and Winter decorations gone now is the time to add touches Spring to your decor. Spring decor must include flowers and bring colors.

Pinterest is a great place to look for decorating ideas. Above are some of my favorite ideas that I found for Spring. The little bunny picture frame would be such an easy DIY to complete. I love the addition of the pom pom to create a cute little bunny tail. The rain boots with flowers is such a fun idea too. You would definitely need some pretty and colorful rain boots like those pictured to have a beautiful display. Will you decorate for Spring?

Petal Pink Scoop Arm Chair / Ocean Blue Tufted Chair / Dotted Chair / Canyon Chair / Navy Velvet Chair / Fuchsia Dome Chair / Black and White Stripe Chair / Antoinne Tufted Chair

I am in the beginning stages of planning how to create a little reading nook in my home. I want to create somewhere quiet where I could curl up with a great book for a few hours or spend some time blogging. I currently do most of my blogging sitting on the sofa in my living room but often I find it has becomes to distracting for me (I'm looking at you Netflix). The first and most crucial part of my planning process is finding the right chair. It needs to be incredibly comfortable but I also want it to have a little personality. I love elegant tufted chairs, chairs in beautiful colors, and in cheery prints.

Do you have a little peaceful nook in your home where you can block out distractions? Or do you have any recommendations on where I can find the perfect chair?

Color Crush: Blush

Color Crush: Blush
Blush is such a beautiful color. This soft, feminine color works in so many different color combinations. Whether you are pairing it with neutrals, other pastels, neon colors, or metallics, it looks great. My favorite color combination is blush and gold. The dainty, feminine color pairs nicely with the vivid, edgy color. Blush works great in fashion, in home decor, and in life. It's practically a neutral, so you can pair it with almost anything. I don't have near enough blush in my life. What about you? How do you feel about the color?

Wall Decals

Wall Decals
Beautiful and long-lasting wall art stickers:

Easy wall stickers have become one of the most popular items for home decor and furnishing not only in the urban areas, but also in 6the rural areas. Hotels, hospitality sector, schools, nursing homes, colleges, and creches, even boarding schools nowadays use wall art stickers to decorate the room of the students, and the boarding members. Wall art is not just restricted to paintings only, but it also includes wall stickers, decals, wall murals and many other accessories to decorate walls of houses and institutions. Wall art stickers are available both in online and offline shopping portals, and they have become part and parcel of every household, whether it is in UK, or in USA.

Wall art and the method of room furnishing:

The basic fact about wall art stickers is that, they are trendy, stylish, and they are available in a lot of colors and designs. They are generally liked by individuals of all ages, and children along with their parents always order for good quality my wall decals from different shops in the country. In the furnishing and fabric industry wall art stickers have become very popular and almost all of many friends have ordered for good quality wall art stickers for their bedrooms, living rooms, drawing rooms, and for the rooms of their children, among which living room wall stickers are the most popular.

Some of the most popular image prints for wall art stickers are included below:

• Garden trees, inverted flowers and the theme of twigs, leaves, branches, and singing birds. Wall art stickers and decals are very popular in the nursery schools, where children are especially fond of stickers that have animal, or clown or cartoon prints.
• For the bedrooms, it is important to include such wall art stickers which will glow in the dark, thus creating a photogenic effect, or it is also my opinion that wall art stickers can be reflected the best when they are seen not through neon lights, but through CFL lamps, and LED lights.
• Wall art stickers of masks, demons, psychedelic animals, and tattoo prints are also quite famous in many of the western and European countries, and we are no exception. I was so delighted to find out a wall art sticker on contemporary film stars, and their masked appearance, that I bought one set for myself, and another for my friend.
• Sometimes, there are movable and immovable wall art stickers which are a new combination of color, creativity, and geometric design and textures contents. For instance, I have got a pair of wall sticker sheets which look just like the table lamps which have been put in the corners of my room, and I feel that they create an awesome contrast by highlighting the real light from the lamp, and the color from the wall stickers.

The cost effective nature and facilities provided by wall art stickers:

As it is now, that wall art stickers are one of the most affordable room furnishing and decorating accessories. It protects the wall and it also has certain other functions like:

• Sometimes some messages in the form of street art are displayed on the wall stickers. They can be romantic love poems, some lullaby for the children, some funny messages which are printed on the stickers, and also some deep and profound lines, which are generally philosophical in nature.
• Wall art stickers protect the wall from moisture, unnecessary sedimentation, soot, dirt, cobwebs, and a lot of other things which can damage the wall.
• They are easily removable so there is no need to pate them on the wall, with the help of glue.
• These stickers can camouflage minor disproportions on the walls of the room, and their variety also sparks up the creative spirit within an individual.
• They are very good because they act as protective shields for small children who are prone to get hurt by banging their heads on the walls of the room. The wall stickers can instantly divert their attention, and they can also indulge into some form of creativity by looking at the wall art stickers and imagining their own world.

Wall art stickers and advertising:

Wall art stickers are also used by advertising agencies to deliver a message to the consumers on a certain product. For instance, a shoe or a shampoo company can create some innovative wall art sticker in the form of portraits, or landscape designs, to deliver the sales message.

So, I think all of us should try out the new designs of wall art stickers, at least for once.

The White Room

The White Room While I love rooms with bold colors, I am also a fan of a white room. Rooms painted in bold colors or done in beautiful wall papers are great, and I definitely want some rooms like that in my future home. I also want a white room. I haven't decided yet what room in my home would be best done in white, but I love the clean, chic feeling of a white room. This room would be relaxing and a great place to kick back for a break from the hustle and bustle of life. How do you feel about a white room? What room would you want to be white?

Live in the Pastel Home These rooms with their pastel colors look like such great places to relax. I could see myself coming home after a stressful day at work and walking into one of these room and instantly feeling more relaxed. Pastels are such feminine, soft colors that look great with a wide variety of colors. I would pair the pastel colors with neutrals to keep the calming atmosphere. The home office above also adds in some touches of neon which would be perfect for that room. I love everything about the home and the rooms above. The pastels offer a touch of romanticism to the places. I wish I could just jump into these room right now. What do you think about pastel rooms like these?
