Splash of Color

When I think about having my future home, the first thing I think about is the rooms that I want. Rooms like a master bedroom, a huge kitchen, and a big living room with lots of seats for guests. When I think about these rooms I always think about what they will look like. In my mind the rooms are constantly changing because I just can't make a definite decision about any of it yet.

The colors are always changing in my mind, right now I think I would like mainly neutrals with splashes of color. I can see my living room/sitting room being mainly white but with pops of color. I'm not sure how you feel about all white rooms. To me they are very calm and serene but if everything is white it can be a little bland and boring. I would want a few pops of colors. In a white room like the one above I would add touches of pink and gold. A few colorful prints on the wall, a pink pouf, a few pink and gold throw pillows instead of the white ones, and maybe a gold bar cart to add in color. I think it would give the room just enough color to make break the white up a bit. With only a few pieces of pink and gold the colors would really stand out against the white. What are your thoughts?

What to Wear: Express Yourself

Positive Vibes Only Tee easy, comfy tee - Tassel Necklace - Polka Dot Bomber Jacket love the polka dots - Metallic Quilted Clutch - Faux Leather Pants rocker vibe - Betsey Johnson Belt - Kate Spade Watch - Burberry Military Red Nail Polish love the color - Slip On Sneakers great shoes

What to Wear: Express Yourself
I saw this top last week and loved it! So this look really evolved around this tee. I would get a lot of use out of a tee like this in the summer with shorts or jeans. Layer it with great jackets in the Fall and Winter. This would even be cute with a floral, flared skirt. Also, I have been finding myself like tees with statements on them more and more and I love what this one says. Finding a tee with a statement that expresses how you feel is perfect. Don't you think?

I kept this look neutral by going with mainly the black and white in the top. I added gold in the accessories and a pop of color with the red nail polish. I think this look turned out kind of with a rocker edge because of the faux leather pants and the metallic accessories. Would you wear this look?

Gold watches are a timeless classic that never go out of style. Being the accessory girl that I am I picked up this gold pave watch a few months ago and it has quickly became a wardrobe staple for me. I wear it with everything. I have also found that it is a great piece to layer with a stack of bangles. Size of the watch a matter of preference. My favorite are oversized because they are not too dainty or fussy.

Circle Shimmer Cuff - Triangle Shimmer Cuff
Delicate Gold Cuff

Last week I did some massive cleaning in my bedroom. I went through all of my drawers and my closet. While cleaning and organizing things I took notice of some things that I had forgotten about. Looking at my jewelry, I noticed I had a lot of necklaces but I didn't really have any other pieces. While necklaces are my favorite accessory to wear, lately I have really been loving all of the thin gold cuffs. They are so delicate and feminine. Usually when I think of a gold cuff I think of a wider bracelet that covers at least a few inches of your arm. This more dainty and delicate version would be perfect for more formal occasions and for work. I am especially loving this cuff. What are your thoughts on these bracelets?

Blush and Gold

Blush and gold has long been one of my favorite color combination. It is undeniably and unapologetically feminine, soft, and romantic while being sophisticated and elegant. I think I have to point out just how stunning (and very expensive) these sunglasses are. A few more of my favorites include this skirt (only $39), these flats, and this tulip skirt.

Holiday Table Top

During the last couple years I have a developed a huge love for the color gold (which I also shared here). I personally cannot think of a prettier way to host Christmas dinner than on a table decked out in gold that is sparking in candlelight. Included on my perfect table would be gold flatware ( this is also a great option) that I have longed to own for so long, these mugs, this table runner, and for a touch of festive green these rosemary topiaries (similar to the one I shared here). What are your Christmas dinner plans this year?

Not to mention I love adding gold metallic, shiny, or sequin items to my wardrobe. Gold is such a perfect color for winter and for the holidays. This topic led to my #stylishforless post today. Below you will find beautiful gold items that will help you put together a gold monochrome look.

What to Wear: Monochrome Gold

Monochromatic looks have been very popular on the runways this year. These looks feature various shades of the same color. I'm not sure about you but I am not 100% on board with this trend. I am just not comfortable wearing a monochromatic look in pink or yellow or any bright bold color for that matter. What about you? I can see pictures online or in magazines of others totally accomplishing these looks. They look flawless and gorgeous. But me? I would be very self-conscious and unsure of myself in looks completely in a lot of bold, bright colors. How would you feel?

I think monochrome looks in neutrals are beautiful. These monochromatic looks can very sophisticated and elegant. Blacks, whites, creams, gold, silver, navy, and grays are more my style for monochrome looks. What colors would you wear for a monochrome look? This season there are sure to be a lot of parties and gatherings with family and friends too. As the holidays approach you will have to plan what to wear to these events. Monochromatic looks can be great for these occasions. I think any metallic color would be perfect for a winter party. Below I have created a gold monochrome look for a holiday party.

I have such a huge love for statement pieces especially jewelry ( this being a current favorite) that I seldom get dressed without including one in my look. As much as I love statement jewelry I have come to realize that it is important to have a nice balance of daintier pieces that I can rely on. This, this, and this are among my favorite but I have rounded up many other great options below.

Golden Touch: Home Decor

The past few days we have had some warmer weather with sunny skies. This definitely have me thinking about summertime and sunshine. It's a good thing summer isn't officially here yet, because with my hectic schedule I have not quite gotten to that spring cleaning that I need to do. I definitely need to get things organized and I want to change things up a bit.
Summer and sunshine make me think of the color gold and what better way to spruce things up a bit than adding a few golden decor items? Some items like a vase or mirror frame can easily become golden with a little DIY project involving a can of spray paint. The pillows could be easily remedied if I buy some cute material like that golden chevron print and I could make some pillow covers for the pillows currently on the couch. Will you be changing things up for summer in a big or a small way? What colors do you associate with summer?

This Little Piggy

I know Harry Allen gold piggy banks have been around for a while and have made numerous appearances on blogs but I still love them and they are still very stylish. Are you lucky enough to own one of these little piggies? They are amazing conversation pieces and a great spin on a childhood staple. Although they come in colors from hot pink to teal, gold is still my favorite. This fun, playful decor would look darling on my mantel.

Good as Gold

I would have never considered gold a go to color when getting dressed or shopping for new clothes, but I've started reconsidering it after recently seeing several editorals and magazine spreads featuring it. Gold is definitely attention grabber and can add a lot of glam or edge to any look. When wearing gold for a more glamorous, formal look keep the rest of the look simple. I love that this look is edgy. There is no way that wearing something like this wouldn't make you feel instantly the most confident person in the room.
