What To Wear: To A Christmas Party

what to wear: to a christmas party
Collarless Coat / Embellished Sweater / Flute Glass / Flower Drop Earrings / Crystal Bracelet / NARS Lipstick - Jungle Red / My Burberry Festive / Gold Pleat Midi Skirt / Evening Belles Lucinda Clutch / Bow Pumps

Wow, the first few days back at work after a holiday are rough. Now I am officially in the mindset where I want to be doing nothing but relaxing and celebrating the holidays not stuck behind a desk for hours and hours. Not to mention that I am not a fan of 5 am wake ups.

This upcoming Saturday Jessica and I are traveling out of town to attend our first Christmas party of the season. Over the last month I have been collecting a sizable amount of holiday party appropriate attire, including a skirt similar to this gold pleated midi skirt. It looks so pretty on and the gold is so festive. I have been swooning over this clutch for months. It also comes in several other colors.

My social calendar is booked until mid-January. It is going to be busy but this next month is going to be fun. Plus, only 3 more weeks of work and then I have a full 2 weeks off to relax and enjoy the holidays. Will you be attending any Christmas parties this year?

What To Wear: Fall Uniform

fall uniform
what to wear: fall uniform
Field Jacket (love this $64 version too) / Striped Tee / Constellation Necklace / Beanie / Double Pearl Earrings / Fox iPhone Case / NARS Lipstick - Scarlet / Satchel / Jeans / Thin Ring Set / The Happiness Planner / Ankle Booties / Thermal Mug

I am one tired girl. I started off this week yesterday thinking that it was going to be a quieter week but it seems that I was wrong. I have been working nonstop for the last few weeks and I could really use a little downtime.

I have several days scheduled off in November and I cannot wait spend some lazy days enjoying fall before it zips past me and is gone. Above is a typical fall uniform for me. Flat ankle boots and a field jacket are fall essentials that I think every girl should own. I shared this iPhone case yesterday but I love how adorable the little fox is.

On another note have you started your Christmas shopping yet? So many people that I know have already began picking up gifts but I haven't had time to even start thinking about it. I suspect that I will wind up doing most of my shopping online the weekend after Thanksgiving.

What to Wear: A Rainy Day Look

Hunter Bubble Umbrella great umbrella - Rose Gold Moonstone Necklace simple and beautiful - Army Green Twill Top - Michael Kors Tench Coat the perfect trench - Mini Messenger Bag - Hunter Boots love the color - Rag and Bone Boyfriend Jeans the perfect jeans

What to Wear: A Rainy Day Look
We have been having a lot of rainy days here lately. How has the weather been where you are? The weather here can't seem to make up its mind. One day its warm and sunny and then the next its cool and stormy. I guess that's just Fall for you. I love a good stormy day when I can stay inside and snuggle under a blanket and watch some reruns of my favorite shows with my cat. What's not fun is having to brave the storm and go out and about.

I don't know about you, but on rainy days I just have not motivation to dress with care. It's storming and my hair is going to be a mess once I step out in the rain with the wind blowing. It's messy outside and if I'm not careful, I will be a mess too. So my go too rainy day look revolves around a great pair of jeans and beautiful rain boots. Rain boots in a beautiful color or print are perfect because they protect you and they are cute. A simple top and a great trench and you are ready to go. What's your go to look on a rainy day?

What To Wear: Fall Vibe

what to wear in fall
What to Wear: Fall Vibe
Moto Jacket (a fall essential) / Plaid Shift Dress / Sunglasses / Ear Crawlers (perfectly dainty) / Ciaté London Nail Polish / Allie Ring / Cuff Set / iPhone Case (adorable!) / Satchel / Booties / Necklace

Happy fall everyone! I am so happy to be entering my favorite time of the year. I have been busy make a to-do list of things I want to do this fall and it has me excitedly looking forward to the upcoming months. Jessica and I have also stated planning for our Halloween party and hope to get invitations out this week. Am I the only one that loves Halloween more as a grown up than I ever did as a child?

Meanwhile, I feel like the weather is being cruel to me. It gave me several glorious fall like days several weeks ago where it encouraged me to pull out the jackets from the back of my closet, allowed me to have lunch outside so I could enjoy the crispness in the air, and urged me to end the day snuggled up with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Now here we are on the first day of fall and it feels almost like we are in the middle of summer outside. Come on, Mother Nature, work with me. In the last few weeks I have purchased so many great pieces for fall and I want to be able to wear them without sweltering.

I was evaluating my closet the other day and realized that I do not currently own a single plaid item. I have convinced myself that a plaid dress like this one is a necessity. I have been flipping out over these Satchel / booties since I spotted them earlier this week. The cutouts on them are perfect.

Have you been doing a lot shopping for fall? What great items have you purchased?

What To Wear: To The Farmers Market

What To Wear: To The Farmers' Market
Taner Bar Earrings (love these) / Key Fob / Striped Boatneck Tee / Sunglasses / Gold Band Set / Wallet / Bermuda Shorts / Thin Cuff Set / Transport Tote (gets so much use) / Leopard Flats (on sale!)

Maybe it is because I grew up on a farm but there are few things better than spending a day leisurely browsing a farmers' market. I love treating myself to coffee and a pastry while strolling around a local farmers' market and then coming home with lots of fresh produce and pretty flowers for the upcoming week. Last week I got so excited about fall when I spotted an abundance of pumpkins, squash, and gourds had become available.

It makes me feel really great to support local farmers by purchasing fresh, local, in-season produce but I also find going to a farmers' market to be a really fun, relaxing experience. Instead of rushing around a crowd, sometimes stressful grocery store to get out as soon as possible I take my time and savor farmers' market experiences.

Trips to the farmers' market are meant to be casual but to look put-together I like to wear simple like a striped tee and denim Bermuda shorts with simple jewelry. It is also important to take a large tote ( this one is my favorite) to carry purchases around in. Do you love spending early Saturday mornings taking a stroll around the farmers' market too?

What To Wear: For A Day In The Park

what to wear for a day in the park
what to wear: for a day in the park
Butterfly Earrings (so cute!) / Open Cube Bracelet / Duo Stone Bracelet / Striped Top (pairs perfectly with white jeans too) / Sunglasses / Camera / Pouch / Fedora / Croquet Set (so fun!) / Shorts / Essie Borrowed and Blue / Sandals / Picnic Basket

When it comes to summer I feel like there is something I just totally missing. Summer has never been my cup of tea. I build it up every year and convince myself that summer will be this magical time that will involve doing all of these fun outdoor activities, dining al fresco, and getting plenty of Vitamin D. But in reality I avoid being outside like crazy in the summer. I reserve outdoor fun for spring and fall. Ah, fall I am counting the days until your arrival.

There is no denying that during the last month I have been staying inside as much as possible to avoid the extremely hot weather. I am crossing my fingers that this weekend will be different. The weatherman is promising me surprisingly early fall-like weather this weekend and I am holding him to it. An outdoor picnic sounds like a perfect activity to include in my birthday weekend. I think I may have featured this striped top on here before but I really love it and think it is a fun go to piece for casual summer days.

P.S. Have you ever played croquet? I haven't but I am convinced that if I owned this croquet set it would be one of my favorite activities for when I'm hosting friends.

What To Wear: Summer Casual

what to wear: summer casual
Leopard iPhone Case / Key Fob (on sale!) / Denim Romper (on sale!) / Aviator Sunglasses / Fedora / Clare V. Pin / Clover Stud Earrings (adorable) / Bracelet / Kate Spade New York Watch (love this) / The Nightingale / Bucket Bag / Sliders

Summer is easily when my style is at its most casual. I tend to stick to simple, easy pieces that I can slip on quickly and that will keep me cool like this romper and these sliders. You will also never find me outside of my house in the summer without a pair (or two) of sunglasses. Do you ease into a more casual, relaxed style during the summer months too?

What To Wear: Summer BBQ

what to wear to a cookout
what to wear: summer bbq
Stud Earrings (dainty) / Stacking Rings / Pouch (beautiful color) / Tee / Sunglasses / Necklace (so versatile) / Turkish Towel / Striped Shorts / Lomo Instant Camera (so fun!) / Sandals / Tote

Barbecues are a huge part of summer for us. They are one of our favorite ways to get family and friends together. Plus you get to eat great food. To me a BBQ is a time to relax and be comfortable and often during the summer that means shorts (how comfy do these look?) and a tee. With casual outfits lately I have been tending to keep my jewelry super simple. That is why I love these dainty studs and solitaire necklace. I am also one of those women who can never seem to go anywhere without a handbag because I always have so much stuff I want to bring along with me. I love this tote and would drop this pouch inside to help keep my belongings organized.

Do you barbecue frequently in the summer? Have you tried veggie hot dogs?? I think they are delicious.

What to Wear: Carefree Day

Sunglasses - Marc Jacobs Watch - Meow Tee - Kate Spade Studs - Coin Pendant - Miss Dior - Blue Shorts - Essie Bikini So Teeny Nail Polish - Leopard Print Sneakers - Saddlebag

What to Wear: Carefree Day
During the Summer I look forward to those carefree Summer days when I have absolutely nothing to do. Those few days when I have no errands to run, no chores around the house to finish up, and nothing planned to do. On those days I want to be comfortable and free to do or go wherever my mood strikes. Do I want to lounge around the house? run over to my best friends house? or make a trip to town to just browse for fun? This requires a comfortable and pretty look. What do you like to wear on your carefree Summer days?

What To Wear: Relaxed Weekend

what to wear on a casual weekend
back to summer basics
Classic Jean Jacket / Shift Dress (has pockets!) / Panama Hat / Necklace (beautiful color!) / Stud Earrings / Watch (love the minimalism) / Handbag / Sandals / The Summer Table

It is only Tuesday but I am already planning for the weekend. Summer does that to me. It is going to be so difficult being stuck inside the office the next couple months. It is times like this that I am jealous of Jessica job as a teacher.

During the weekends I typically believe in keeping it casual. I love that this dress is under $30 and has pockets. It would be the perfect outfit to wear while meeting friends for lunch or running errands. I do not any handbags with fringe but lately I find myself browsing for them online every few days. This one with its bucket shape looks like the ideal handbag.

Do you find being stuck inside at work difficult during summer months too?

Aviator Sunglasses / Striped Boatneck Tee (a closet essential) / Fedora (only $20!) / Stud Earrings ( Hattan Home has so many great accessories) / Drink Sleeve / Essie - Bikini So Teeny / Ring Set / Denim Shorts / Necklace / The Great Gatsby / Messenger Bag / Sandals (love these!)

Summer does not officially begin until June 21st but the hot weather here plus just getting back from the beach has me convinced I am already in the middle of it. Almost everyone gets excited for summer and I know I am supposed to love it but I just don't. The sweltering heat, all the insects, and the increased protection from the sun my incredibly fair skin requires makes the entire time period very unappealing to me. I can however totally get behind summer basics like the perfect denim shorts and striped tees that go with almost everything. I would love to know what your summer basics are.

P.S. This is my all time favorite shade of nail polish for summer and I swear it receives numerous compliments every time I wear it.

What to Wear: Cruise Ready

Blue Bikini - Geometric Print Cover Up love the print - Straw Sun Hat - Essie Nail Polish - Embellished Sandals - Le Specs Sunglasses - Double Knot Bangle adorable - Luxe Tote

What to Wear: Cruise Ready
I've never been on a cruise, have you? I imagine that they would be very relaxing and peaceful. I also imagine that it would be very beautiful to be out in the ocean without any land in sight. I bet the view is gorgeous! My parents are going on a cruise this summer with some other relatives of ours and I bet they are sure to have a blast. Mom has been going on and on about what to wear on the cruise. In my mind women are pretty much running around in outfits similar to the above. If you've been on a cruise, is this true? If you haven't been on a cruise, is this what you imagine too? I think you would want to be comfortable and ready to go for a swim at any moment so a swimsuit, cover up, and sandals are a must. Right?

What To Wear: Al Fresco Lunch Date

what to wear casual lunch date
Spring Trend: Hair Accessories
Bucket Bag / Linen Tee (only $35) / Bar Earring Set (love these) / Key Fob / Gold Band Set / Slight Cat Eye Sunglasses (great sunglasses) / Sandals / Shorts

I am going to admit that spring and summer are not my favorite seasons. I much prefer fall and winter, however, I do love the perk of dining outside during the warmer months. Dining al fresco is something I try to do as much as possible even if it is just making myself a quick meal for brunch on the weekend and eating on my deck. I think these shorts and this linen tee (love the scallop details) would be the perfect combination for a causal date or meeting with friends for an al fresco lunch. I have earrings similar to these and they are one of my favorite go to pieces of jewelry.

What to Wear: Fun Prints

Coin Necklace - Striped Shirt - Oversized Sunglasses - Gold Pulse Cuff unique - Tribal Print Tote - Florence Print Skirt beautiful - Tory Burch Flats

What to Wear:
When I saw this skirt, I immediately loved it. It is such a beautiful print and it's definitely a very Summery print. I would love to own it. Add a striped top and a printed tote and you can have fun mixing prints with this look. Simple accessories and brown flats complete the look. With all of the different prints I think everything else should be more simplistic to keep the look balanced. Do you love the skirt as much as I do?

What To Wear: Shirt Dress

Wise Words by Marilyn Monroe
Gold Watch (a classic staple) / Texture Gold Band (love this ring!) / Link Bracelet / Open Bar Cuff / Always Pack a Party Dress / Converse Sneakers / Shirt Dress (so versatile) / Guerlain Color Lacquer / Mini Daggar Stone Earrings / Karen Walker Sunglasses / Panama Hat (only $24!) / Saddle Handbag

In the spring and summer I honestly really try to avoid wearing layers and I want to get dressed in the easiest to wear pieces out there. Shirt dresses like this one could not making getting dressed more simple. They are incredibly versatile but right now I am loving adding a slight tomboy feel with sneakers. If you do not own a pair of these Converse sneakers you definitely need to pick up a pair asap. They will become your go to casual shoes.

A few more shirt dresses I love:

What to Wear: Spring Uniform

Tortoise Shell Sunglasses - Kate Spade Pearl Studs - Mother of Pearl Pendant - Fossil Trench Coat classic must-have - Lace Trimmed Cotton Dress great Spring dress - Ciate Ultimate Oppulence Nail Polish - Michael Kors Tote - Leopard Print Flats LOVE these - Umbrella

What to Wear: Spring Uniform
This is the perfect look for a Spring day. When you picture a beautiful Spring day, what do you picture someone wearing? The ultimate Spring uniform to me is a classic trench-a shorter version not full length, a cute sundress, flats, and a tote bag. I'm currently loving this Fossil trench coat. You definitely need a tote bag to carry around whatever you will need when you find the perfect spot to sit. I like to carry a book, notepad, pen, my iphone, and a snack in my bag. Also, a must is an umbrella because you never know when a Spring shower will pop up. When it does you will be ready to toss your things into your tote and open your umbrella to get out of the rain. Add a few accessories and maybe some nail polish to jazz the look up a little. What's your go-to Spring uniform?

What to Wear: Sunny Spring Day

Navy Cardigan - Marc Jacobs Sunnies shiny! - Gold Bar Stud Earrings - Alexander Wang Striped Dress beautiful - Stone Pendant Necklace - Kate Spade "Heart of Gold" Bangle adorable - Nails INC Belsize Road Nail Polish - Kate Spade Crossbody Bag love the color - Michael Kors Sandals

What to Wear: Sunny Spring Day
Spring is officially here now. Aren't you excited for the sunny days and the sudden rain showers? I'm definitely ready for. I'm done with the snow and the bitter cold winds. I'm ready for lunches on the patio, going on nice walks, and relaxing on a bench with a good book. On a nice, sunny, Spring day I would want to wear something like the above. A cute, comfortable dress is a must. I'm loving the colors in this Alexander Wang striped dress. I love the colors and play off of them for the rest of the look. Add in sandals and a few accessories and you are ready for whatever the day brings. Right? What's your ideal sunny Spring day look?

What To Wear: Shopping

what to wear on a long day shopping
What To Wear: Shopping
Scoop Neck Tank Top / Cardigan / Pants / Crystal Stud Earrings (so pretty!) / Pearl Ring / Knuckle Ring / Bucket Bag / YSL Nail Lacquer in Blue Cobalt / Nails Lipstick in Schiap (a pop of pink) / Sneakers

Jessica and I live outside a very small town about two hours outside of Lexington. Every few weeks we make the trip to Lexington for a long day of errands, appointments, and cramming in as much shopping as possible. That is exactly what we did last Saturday. Over the years I have learned pretty well what is the best things to wear during these all day running around town and shopping marathons. The ideal outfit for me involves pull up pants (believe me you do not want to be wiggling out of your skinny jeans in dressing rooms all day) and a loose fitting t-shirt or tank top. Pair these with an open cardigan that can be tossed off quickly and comfortable slip-on sneakers. I also keep accessories very simple and avoid necklaces because they usually become a huge bother when repeatedly changing clothes.

What is your go to outfit when heading out for a long day of shopping?

Floral Statement Necklace add some sparkle - Bar Crystal Earrings - Blazer Over 50% OFF - Crystal Link Bracelet - Belted Green Dress beautiful color - Marc Jacobs Watch - Burberry Antique Gold Nail Polish - Mary Jane Heels - Rebecca Minkoff Bag lovely

What to Wear: St. Patrick's Day
This St. Patrick's Day join in on the fun and avoid being pinched by wearing some green. I happen to love the color green, especially bold green colors like emerald green. I always have some green in my closet since it is my favorite color. I would love to add a dress like this to my closet, plus it would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day. Add some sparkle to the dress with some beautiful accessories and you are sure to be confident in this look. Will you be wearing green on St. Patrick's Day?

What To Wear: To The Gym
Hooded Jersey Top / Jersey Tank (pretty in pink) / Sports Bra / Yoga Mat / Watch (love this!) / Track Pants / Water Bottle (a gym essential) / Sunglasses / Earbuds / Jawbone / Hair Ties / Nike Sneakers

I wish I was one of those girls who likes working out but I do not think that is ever going to happen. I am not an athletic girl and I have long accepted the fact that I am never going to be. I do know that working out is important so I am always trying to make it a routine for me. Having pretty workout clothes like this pink tank top I find to be a huge help. Do you workout regularly? Do you have any tips for someone who hates the gym?
