When it comes to summer I feel like there is something I just totally missing. Summer has never been my cup of tea. I build it up every year and convince myself that summer will be this magical time that will involve doing all of these fun outdoor activities, dining al fresco, and getting plenty of Vitamin D. But in reality I avoid being outside like crazy in the summer. I reserve outdoor fun for spring and fall. Ah, fall I am counting the days until your arrival.

There is no denying that during the last month I have been staying inside as much as possible to avoid the extremely hot weather. I am crossing my fingers that this weekend will be different. The weatherman is promising me surprisingly early fall-like weather this weekend and I am holding him to it. An outdoor picnic sounds like a perfect activity to include in my birthday weekend. I think I may have featured this striped top on here before but I really love it and think it is a fun go to piece for casual summer days.

P.S. Have you ever played croquet? I haven't but I am convinced that if I owned this croquet set it would be one of my favorite activities for when I'm hosting friends.

In the Swing of Things

I am so glad it is Friday. I plan to rest and relax this weekend. I am absolutely exhausted. This was my first week back at work after a long break. I have had to get back into the routine of waking up by 6:00am and working all day with only lunch and a small break. I have also had to get myself use to the after work meetings and planning that I haven't had to do in a while. Then there is also making myself go to bed early at night so that I can get myself up and going in the mornings. One great way to have fun is to go to the park. As a kid I loved going to the park and playing on all of the equipment. Then there was also the fact that I had a lot more kids to play with than just my sisters. My favorite thing to do at the park was to swing. Just because I am not a kid anymore doesn't mean I don't get to swing anymore. One way that I am going to relax this weekend is to swing. What about you? What are you going to do to relax this weekend?
