Write Out of my Mouth

I use to always think that having a journal or diary, or whatever you want to call it, was a great idea. Having a pretty book to write down all my thoughts, feelings, and to keep a record of my life was going to be something that I look back on (in the future) and feel really fulfilled about doing. I thought that by keeping these things written down that one day, when I am like a hundred, I would want to go back and read them to see how I changed over time. I still think writing down my thoughts on different things is a good idea, but I was never able to keep myself consistent with writing in a journal. Sometimes I would write everyday, but then it might go a month (sometimes 2 or 3) before I would think to write in it again. So I gave it up and honestly I couldn't even tell you what happened to my old journals because it has been years (like 5 or 6 even) since I have kept a journal.
Nowadays, I do much better with recording things. But I do it differently. No more journals or diaries for me. I now keep some things recorded by just blogging. My opinions on different things can be found everywhere in this posts. I also keep a more visual record of events by scrapbooking. For me, scrapbooking is a stress reliever and a great hobby. I haven't been making as much time for it lately as I should, but hopefully this upcoming week I will get the few things I have been holding onto put inside my scrapbook.

So what do you do? Are you fantastic at keeping a journal up-to-date or more crafty with scrapbooks and photo albums? Or do you just use your blog to get track of things?

  2. What beautiful photos! I too always intended to keep diaries - I've started so many and even kept up one for a good few months at a time but eventually that dwindled down too. Sometimes I feel sad for not writing things down more but then I realise that as long as you remember that's what counts (now to practice on that bit)

  3. these are beautiful journals! sadly, i am no good in keeping journals either. i started about a million journals but never really wrote in any of them. :/

now i use my blog to share my thoughts too. and whenever i find a quote or anything else i know i want to keep a record of, i put them on my phone -- my phone is something i always have with me. :)

  4. ohhh.. i used to live with my journals and moleskins and write every thing down. now with blogging fb and every other electronic, i've slacked on my writing. it is so much easier on a laptop, but I've been making myself write every so often when i have time and remember to write in my journal, as it is so much more satisfying..

  5. I keep a really detailed planner and a journal that I try to write in everyday...it's kind of overkill!

  7. I totally use my blog as my journal. I was never very good about keeping a journal either but for some reason I am so disciplined about my blog. Funny, maybe because it's more visual to me and that's what I'm drawn to.

  8. I use to write a journal when I was in my last few years of high school which I still have, they are interesting to read to say the least - all filled up of tales of my former past and not really fitting into the world. My blog i guess is my modern version of my journal - but I just find it miles easier to write this way instead.

  11. I work really hard to keep my journal up to date. I have it on my computer now so, when I get a few minutes, I can update it. I love going back and reading things!!!

  13. i love the idea of having a pretty book to jot things down in. i used to do it, but life gets so crazy sometimes, you just don't have time. i always had a planner/calendar, though, and i kept everything in there...notes, dates, receipts, evvrything. that beccame my journal. this past year, i didn't buy a planner...guess my blog has now become the journal!
