Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies

Brownies are by far one of my favorite desserts. I find the the soft, chewy, chocolaty treats to be almost irresistible. This recipe with its peanut butter swirl is even more heavenly. Corner pieces are my favorites. Do you prefer corner brownies or ones from the center?

Ingredients:

3/4 cup peanut butter
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup boiling water
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degress. Oil and flour a 9x13 baking pan.
2. Mix together the peanut butter, butter, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract. Set aside.
3. Combine cocoa powder and baking soda in a medium bowl. Add 1/3 cup of the vegetable oil and mix together thoroughly. Add boiling water and stir until mixture thickens.
4. Add the rest of the vegetable oil, eggs and sugar and stir until smooth. Mix in flour, vanilla and salt until thoroughly blended.
5. Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan.
6. Drizzle the peanut butter mixture over the brownie batter. Using a knife swirl the peanut butter mixture to obtain a marble effect.
7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until brownies are set in the middle and peanut butter swirl slightly puffs. Allow to cool in pan before cutting.
