Happy Independence Day

Jessica and I are taking the weekend off to celebrate the holiday weekend and Jessica's birthday with family and friends. Summer is flying by and we hope that the pause this weekend will help us remember to enjoy every moment before summer has passed us by. Have a great Independence Day.

DIY Firework Drink Stirrers

Can you believe we are less than a month away from celebrating Independence Day? It is crazy how fast this year is flying by. What are your plans for celebrating the Fourth of July? My entire family usually gets together for a barbecue.

Jessica made dozens of these firework drink stirrers over the weekend in preparation for celebrating. This craft is so easy and took only minutes to make.

The only supplies you need are metallic pipe cleaners, paper straws, wire-cutters, and scissors.

Cut each pipe cleaner into 4 equal pieces and then stuff as many as possible into each straw. I got 8 or 9 into each straw. If needed for your glasses use the scissors to trim each straw. Then simply shape the pipe cleaners as desired.

Happy Independence Day! I hope everyone gets to have fun and celebrate this 4th of July! Enjoy that backyard barbecue or dinner with friends. Then you should definitely watch a fireworks show. This evening I will get to have my birthday dinner with the family and then watch some fireworks! What will you be doing to celebrate?

Red, White, and Blue Fashion

Do you have plans for the 4th of July? Maybe you have a backyard barbecue, a family dinner, an Independence Day celebration, or plans to attend a fireworks show for this Independence Day? My family and I will be celebrating earlier that day for my birthday and then we will watch fireworks that night. For a 4th of July celebration you will definitely need a patriotic look to wear. I'm not saying you have to be wearing a flag print, or red, white, and blue from head to toe. An easy way to show your patriotism is to just choose on the color red, white, or blue and incorporate it into your look that day. Even a few accessories or nail polish in the given colors would work. Here are a few of my suggestions:

After work today I have a 5 days away from the office to look forward to and I plan to enjoy every moment of my extra long 4th of July weekend. I caution you against wearing the American flag to your outdoor barbecues and firework shows. Instead enjoy the holiday weekend decked out in patriotic colors. The girls above are so chic embracing stripes and amazing patterns.

Happy 4th of July to everyone! Today is Indepence Day, the day when America adopted the Declaration of Independence. Not only is July 4th Independence Day, but it is my birthday too! So Happy Birthday to Me! We actually celebrated my birthday during the weekend and how did I celebrate you ask?

I had a delicious dinner with the family follwed by chocolate cake! YUM!

Independence Day

We hope everyone is having a fantastic 4th of July! Around here whenever I think about the 4th of July I think about my birthday (it is today!!) and fireworks! I love going to fireworks shows. Even though it is summer and hot, they happen at night when it is a little cooler. The brilliant colors against the night sky are so magnificent looking! The vibrant colors and timing of the fireworks create a delightful show. So what are your plans for today? I hope you are having fun!
