Cozy Fireplaces

Cozy Fireplaces
Having a fireplace is great. During the Winter, is definitely when I appreciate it the most. On cold, snowy days it is so cozy to relax by the fire with a blanket and cup of hot chocolate. Relaxing in a chair by the fire with my cat and a good book is a wonderful way to spend a chilly evening. In the evenings, after dark, it's great to turn the lights off and enjoy a movie with only the fire as a light source. It just casts such a gentle glow on everything. I think they are just so pretty. Don't you? Arranging snacks or brunch near the fire is awesome too, because you don't have to do much decorating when you have an awesome fireplace to sit by. How do you feel about fireplaces? Do you have one or wish you did?

Christmas Decorations: Fireplaces

One of the best things to do on a cold, snowy winter day is to relax by a warm fireplace. When the fire is roaring and the warmth spreads through the room, snuggling under a blanket is so cozy and peaceful. Knowing it is cold outside but warm inside just makes things so comfy and enjoyable. Don't you just love to curl up next to the fire with a good book and relax?
Another great thing about fireplaces in the winter is all of the decorating ideas! There are just so many ways to decorate around the fireplace and mantle for the holidays. You can use lights, garland, wreaths, stockings, little trees, etc. Above are some of my favorite ideas! What are your thoughts? We always decorate around the fireplace with two little trees, our nutcrackers, and our stockings. How do you decorate yours or how would you decorate yours if you had one?

Stop, Drop, and Roll!

One of my favorite things about our home is the huge fireplace in the living room. When I have my own home I will definitely be incorporating a fireplace or two into it. Having a fire in the fireplace on a cold, gloomy day makes the house feel so cozy and warm. Fireplaces are practical and beautiful. We always have several days every winter when the electricity goes out. Our fireplace shows its practical side then by providing the heat we need to stay warm. Curling up on the couch, next to a fire in the fireplace, is one of my favorite places to read a good book or to chat with the family. A fireplace can be the focal point in a room or just something more and they can go in ANY room in your house.

I love this little girl pink bedroom! It is so girly and cute with a cute little fireplace!

This dining room has a gorgeous fireplace to one side of the dining table. Just imagine how this room must glow when a fire is lite in the fireplace. Having a fire while sitting down to eat a family dinner would be perfect.

This fire makes this bedroom so warm and inviting. I would sleep so snug in this room.

This is a magnificent space! I love everything about it from the ceiling fan to the fire place. I also love the added space for storing wood for the fire place!

I love the stone detailing and the shape of this fireplace.

Another great thing about a fireplace is that you can always decorate it for the holidays! We always have our mantle decorated for Christmas with angels, snowmen, and our stockings.
