DIY Glittery Cork Board Coasters

DIY Cork Board Coasters
DIY Glittery Cork Board Coasters
These glittery cork board coasters were so fun and easy to make. They take less than 30 minutes of your time to make (excluding drying time) and are so sparkly they will make you smile. I love that these glittery cork board coasters are a useful item that you can always keep on display and were inexpensive to make. I also think a set of these wrapped up with a pretty ribbon would make a great gift.

Now to the matter of the supplies you will need.

Glittery Cork Board Coasters Craft

Supplies:
Paint brush (I recommend you use an inexpensive on this one came in a pack of 5 for $1)
Mod Podge
Glitter (whatever kind you have will work but I really love this Martha Stewart Glitter Set)
Cork Coaster Set (like these but I picked my set of 6 of up at Hobby Lobby for under $3)
Painter's Tape

Directions:
1. Put a piece of craft paper or a newspaper on the table you will be working at.
2. Place painter's tape in the pattern you like on each of your coasters. As you can see in some of the pictures below Jessica did a different pattern than me.
3. Doing one coaster at a time brush a thin, even coat of Modge Podge on the areas of your coaster you have marked off with the painter's tape. Immediately cover the coated areas of the coaster with glitter. Then remove the painter's tape (so the glitter on the coaster doesn't dry on it and pull off when you remove the tape later.) 4. Set aside to dry.
5. Complete this process with your remaining coasters. Then allow about 30 minutes to dry completely.
6. Shake off excess glitter and then cover the glittered portions of your coaster with Modge Podge and set aside to completely dry.
7. Admire your handy-work.

Everyone knows I love glitter and jewelry. I always put on jewelry earrings included before leaving the house each day. Using these Kate Spade earrings as inspiration I decided to add a little glitter to two pairs of stud earrings I had picked up for less than $3. I will be picking up a couple more pairs so I can make my own gold and silver pairs too. Below are the supplies and steps to this easy DIY.

DIY Glitter Jewelry Dish

Glittery Jewelry Dish Craft
DIY Glitter Jewelry Dish
Lately me and Jessica have been in a crafting state of mind. I am so a wannabe Martha Stewart with very limited DIY skills. One of coworkers had these little glitter dishes on her desk holding gold paperclips and random odds and ends. I commented on them a couple weeks ago. After she told me how easily she made them I knew they would make adorable jewelry dishes. With just a few dollars worth of supplies and less than 30 minutes (if you don't include time for drying) me and Jessica made two beautiful jewelry dishes.

Supplies:
Glitter
Elmer's Glue
Triple Thick Glaze
Paint Brush
Clear Dishes (we purchased ours at Target for $1)

1. Using your brush cover your entire dish including edges with glue.
2. Cover the entire dish with glitter. Shake it off and then allow to dry completely.
3. Repeat the process on any spots that you missed.
4. Clean your brush.
4. Once the all the glue is completely dried using your brush completely cover the dish in two-three thin layers of the glaze. Allow to dry between each coat.

Once the final coat is dry you have pretty glittery dishes to store your jewelry on.

Next up is finding a couple smaller dishes to turn into glittery accents for my desk.

Stylish For Less: Holiday Sparkle

When it comes to necklaces I am a huge believer in bigger is better. I love huge, glittery pieces that make a statement. Below are eight of my favorite #stylishforless necklaces adorned with pearls, crystals, and rhinestones that will make any outfit sparkle. Although this and this would be beautiful additions to your look this holiday season they would also be easily paired with more causal looks year round.

Glamour Girl

I am anticipating a crazy week were basically every minute is going to booked. Instead of spending all week working on projects, having client meetings, rushing off to court, and getting out documents to meet my deadlines I wish I had time and reasons to pamper myself and dress up in sequins, glitter, and ruffles.

I love glitter, sequins, and sparkle. During the holiday season it seems like almost everyone shares my love for a little glitz. Below is a few of my current favorite finds from around the web. These pieces would be amazing to wear to Christmas parties or for New Years Eve.

Super Sparkly

Sequin home decor? Yes, please. It is a well known fact that I fond of sparkly things. Sequin covered walls, shimmery curtains, shiny pillows, and glittery tablecloths and chairs. Be still my heart. It is a firm belief of mine that everyone should have add a little sparkle to their life but if wearing sequins does not fit your personality consider adding a few sparkly throw pillows to your sofa.
