Dreaming of Madrid

Dreaming of Madrid
Tracy and I love to travel. There is just something so exciting about traveling to and exploring new places. If we haven’t planned a big trip to one of our favorite places, we try to go somewhere new every year. Sometimes these are just shorter trips to places closer to home. There are just so many places that we would love to travel to. Spain, Paris, London, and Prague are just a few places on my list. Where would you like to go?

This year we are traveling back to New York City. NYC has been one of our favorite places. We have been multiple times now and always look forward to going back. There are just so many things to do and see. We always revisit our favorites from previous trips and then fit in some new things. Planning these trips is just so much fun!

While we love going to new places, neither of us have ever been out of the country. In thinking about where we would like to go on our first trip traveling out of the country, one of our top picks is Madrid. Of course, we would stay at Radisson Blu Madrid. We would have to walk along the Gran Via. Touring museums like the Prado to take in the art and history would be a must. Seeing a musical is also on our list of things to do in Madrid. While sightseeing and people watching we would enjoy some tapas or maybe some chocolate con churros from San Gines? Seeing flamenco dancers in Madrid would definitely be something we would want to experience.

There are just so many things that we would want to do in Madrid like see the Royal Palace, eat at Botin, shop at the Rastro Flea Market, and so much more. What do you recommend? What would be on your itinerary for Madrid?

Being a Jetsetter

Being a Jetsetter I love to travel. As a kid our family always went on a family vacation together every Summer. Usually we stuck to the states that border Kentucky. The first time I travelled further than a neighboring state was on my senior trip in high school. We went to Washington DC and to NYC. Since then I have always wanted to see more of the US and more of the world. My siblings and I have been on multiple trips to since then.

Later, this year I am going to be able to do a little more traveling. Tracy and I plan on going to NYC over Thanksgiving week. We are excited to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and to do some shopping for Christmas then. Our family is also going to go to Tennessee sometime near Christmas.

While I am excited about these trips there are still so many places that I want to go to. I have always dreamed about travelling overseas. London has been a destination that I have wanted to travel to for some time now. There is just so much to see and do there. I want to stroll through the parks, visit the museums, and ride The London Eye. Then there is The Royal Court Theatre, Buckingham Palace, and I would love to go star gazing at the Royal Observatory. In planning my future trip to London I already have a growing list of things to do. One thing that I will need to do is find the perfect place to stay. Venere.com is a great website to help me figure that out. I can use that website to search for a place that fits my needs and budget.

Even though I know I won’t make it to London any time soon, I enjoy getting to plan my dream trip to there. I constantly add things to my Must Do While in London list and daydream about being there. Do you have a dream destination that you are planning for?

Where In The World...?

Summer seems to be a favorite time to travel for most. A lot of this has to do with the fact that family vacations are made possible because the kids are not in school and college students do not have to go to class unless they are taking those dreaded summer classes. A couple of weeks ago I blogged about my mini-vacation to Asheville, NC and that was nice but I wish I had the time and money to go on a REAL vacation this summer.
There are so many places that I would love to travel to, given the time and the money and maybe a few comrades willing to go along for the ride. Where would I go this summer if given the chance?

Burgundy Street in Madrid

Greece

Japan

England

The Italian Coast

Etretat, France

Lake Lucern, Switzerland

All of these are places that I hope to travel to some day. Have you been to any of these places?
