I love a checkered pattern for the fall and winter. When searhing for some beautiful checkered pieces I was surprised by its versatility. I usually picture checkered clothing as being very casual but there are absolutely items out there that are more a little more dressy. I love the color combination in this outfit. This is a great example of incorporating a checkered pattern into a more dressy outfit. This would be a great outfit for work.

Black with a few pops of a bold color like red always seems incredibly sophisticated to me. I love the little cap sleeves and the huge dramatic bow on this dress. I paired this dress with a cape, which is a popular trend this year, for a little more of an Upper East Side or Parisian feel.

I don't think that any post featuring a checkered pattern would be complete without at least mentioning the classic Burberry pattern. This classic pattern was first used by Burberry in 1924 and has since became on of the most easily recognizable patterns in the world of fashion.
