Chit Chat: Goals

Chit Chat: Goals When school starts back and I have to start going to work again, in my mind Summer is over. It will be hard to find the time relax and take a break. With working starting again, I am constantly thinking about my goals for the upcoming school year and my personal goals for the year as well. This year has just flown by so far. Before I know it Thanksgiving will be here and then shortly after that Christmas. Then it will be the new year.
I have several goals that I want to work on for the rest of the year and after that. These are things that I want to become lifelong habits. These are routines and habits that I want to have firmly ingrained into myself by the end of the year. I believe that these goals will help me be a happier and healthier me.
I really want to pick up my game when it comes to healthier eating and eating out less. From here on out I would like to eat out at most once a week, so I want to make sure I am mainly eating healthier, home-cooked meals. I also want to challenge myself to give up pop. I go back and forth with this and am able to give it up for a few months, but then I start drinking it again. This time I am giving it up for good.
I also want to ensure that I take some time for myself each week. This year is going to be very busy for me. I am teaching a new math program. We will be having more meetings this year and I will have more responsibility. In the past when things have gotten hectic and stressful, I haven't taken time to keep myself well rested and to relieve stress by doing things that I enjoy. I plan to make sure I am doing something that I enjoy every week and taking time for myself. One thing that Tracy and I will be starting soon is a book club with our other sister and a couple of our best friends. I am super excited about this!

  2. A book club sounds like a great way to unwind and at the same time spend time with friends and family. It's so important to make time for the things we enjoy.
