Summer does not officially begin until June 21st but the hot weather here plus just getting back from the beach has me convinced I am already in the middle of it. Almost everyone gets excited for summer and I know I am supposed to love it but I just don't. The sweltering heat, all the insects, and the increased protection from the sun my incredibly fair skin requires makes the entire time period very unappealing to me. I can however totally get behind summer basics like the perfect denim shorts and striped tees that go with almost everything. I would love to know what your summer basics are.

P.S. This is my all time favorite shade of nail polish for summer and I swear it receives numerous compliments every time I wear it.
