I have always found ribbons and bows to be cute touches to add to a look. Recently, I purchased a top with a big bow at the neck and I love this top. After buying it, I realized that lately, I have been seeing everyone with bows on their tops. The bow could be at the neck, on the back, the side, or at the shoulder. These bows instantly add some playful, femininity to the top that I love. What do you think about this detail?

Hairstyles with Bows

Ever since I read this article on Vogue last week, I haven't been able to get bows and ribbons off my mind. The article included such beautiful photos that I loved. The hairstyles were simple, feminine, and beautiful. They can be easy and simple to use, yet they can make such a statement. You could have your ribbon tied in a bow like a head band or tie your ponytail with a ribbon. Ribbons go great with dresses, but I also love them with jeans and a tee. Your look doesn't have to be feminine to wear a ribbon in your hair. Mix it up. Wear a moto jacket and jeans with a ribbon in your hair. You can have a mix of tough and soft. What are your thoughts?

It is stunning how a simple black ribbon can really elevate any look. Whether tied around your waist, neck, or hair a black bow is chic and simple while somehow managing to provide just enough dramatic flare. A well placed black ribbon can easy eliminate the need for most other accessories. Black ribbon is well on its way to becoming my current accessory of choice.

Getting to Bow You

On a recent shopping trip with my sister I became inspired by bows. We saw this beautiful bow necklace in a window display of a jewelry store. After seeing that I began to notice all the other wonderful things that had bows on them.

Outfit One

This is my favorite look on this post. I just fell in love with this dress as soon as I saw it. I love the colors and the way the bow is incorporated into it. I completed this look by pairing it with other olive and dark blue items and by adding in a few more bows with the earrings and ring.

All Tied Up

As you may be starting to see I am a huge fan of ladylike fashion. And bows are no exception. I love the feminine embellishment and touch of romance they add. Best of all bows can be worn at any size, it doesn't matter how small or big they are, and they can be added to anything from a dress to a headband to a great handbag.

They also immediately make me picture Blair Waldorf (who by the way has been included in numerous lists for best dressed tv character) from Gossip Girl explaining that the bow on a headband should always be worn on the right side. You may also want to consider a little do it yourself project by adding a bow to a boring piece of clothing in your closet or consider wearing a ribbon instead of a belt.
