Friday Favorites

I honestly seldom wear outfits compromised totally over neutrals. I love color and typically gravitate to colorful pieces but lately neutrals have been catching my eye way more often. This draped dress would be incredibly flattering. I have documented my love of midi skirts on this blog before ( here and here) this faux leather skirt with its perfect pleats would fill right at home in my closet. I am like a five year old when it comes to dinosaurs. I love them! A direct result of that is my huge love for this keychain.

Home Decor: Shades of Gray

Spending all of this time at home on snow days, really has me wishing I could do some home decorating. I have been looking at tons and tons of pictures online of some incredibly beautiful homes and rooms. I am the most interested in decorating bedrooms and living room areas. I go back and forth between wanting bright, bold colors like emerald green or turquoise and wanting relaxing neutrals like white or gray. In looking online I saw a lot of rooms in white and gray that looked so cozy. Any room in the house looks great in these colors. I am definitely thinking of a white and gray room in my dream home. What do you think? Do you like the color combination?

Neutral with a Pop of Color

When it comes to neutrals, I just love the crisp clean vibe they give out. Neutrals are a way to remain classy and sophisticated. Plus neutrals are so easy to work with. That is why I would love to have lots of neutrals in my future dream home. My dream home needs a few neutral rooms (I haven't decide which ones, but it could work in any room!) that I can escape into to.
I wouldn't just keep everything neutral though. I would add in some playfulness and fun with a few pops of color. There are so many different ways to do this. For example in the living room you could add pops of color with a vase of fresh flowers and throw pillows. Then it would be so easy to change up the color you are using by changing the vase and pillows. I also love keeping everything neutral and adding in the pop of color by painting the ceiling a bright pretty color like in the photo above.
For rooms like this I have several favorite color combinations. First I love shades of gray paired with purple, green, or turquoise. I also love creams and tans paired with blues, pinks, and oranges. Then white I would pair with just about any color. What would your color combination be?

What to Wear: Neutrals for Summer

Neutrals are basics in every closet. We all need neutral pieces to balance out the colors in our wardrobe. Neutrals are easy pieces to build outfits around because they go with everything. Neutrals include whites, tans, blacks, grays, and navy. For summer you probably want to stay with the whites and tans. I think these colors provide fresh, clean looks, so for this weeks #whattowear post I bring you my summer neutrals look. These shoes are something I would love to own. I just love the metallic details and the tassels.

In my wardrobe I have several key neutrals that I absolutely love because I can wear them together in a totally neutral look or I can mix and match them with bright colors to keep an outfit from being too much. Do you have a favorite neutral piece?

For this Spring and Summer I think we all need to find a perfect neutral outfit. I think some people believe that neutrals are dull and boring, but they couldn't be more WRONG! Neutrals are so creamy and soft. They are feminine and delicate. Plus they work in almost any situation. Going out for a lunch date? Running errands? Going out with friends? Heading in to work? A neutral outfit is perfect for all of these situations. Wearing an outfit of solid creams, tans, and browns is an art! If you aren't happy with a completely neutral outfit add in a few accessories that will provide pops of color. How do you feel about neutrals?

Neutral Territory

Neutrals are always a classic and they are greatly versatile. Neutrals can easily be matched with other colors and can easily become go to pieces. There is something very ladylike about a woman dressed in neutrals. Isn't this the perfect outfit for fall? The colors remind me of Fall foliage. I love how the belt on the dress draws attention to your waist. And a trench is the perfect coat for Fall.
