It's the thought that counts

I am a true believer in the old saying that it's the thought that counts. Admittedly, receiving huge, expensive gifts is definitely nice, but I can be just as pleased when I receive a small well thought out gift. I am not a fan of the one gift fits all. I am sure you know what I am talking about. It is like when your Aunt Eloise buys every female in your family the same matching scarf and mittens for Christmas. Equally as bad is the generic, repeat gift. For example, your cousin, has gotten you a Yankee Candle for your birthday for the fourth year in a roll. Nothing puts an extra special touch and allows the person receiving the gift to know that thought and love went into the gift like it being beautifully wrapped. I love rustic, homemade feeling touches to the wrapping. I saw in a video that in "The Manor" which was Aaron Spellings home that his wife Candy had not one but numerous rooms in the home dedicated solely to gift wrapping. Gift wrapping can get very creative and miscellaneous items from your home can be used to make the gifts beautiful. I love the use of flowers on this package. I also love the idea of recycling paper product to wrap gifts, such as paper bags, old newspapers, and maps. I had to include this picture because of my love for all things Chanel. I would love to see a box like this in a few months under my Christmas tree waiting for me.

  2. The thought counts when the gift is from someone you like. If you are not so close to this person, i don't care about the thought, i want a nice present lol !

  3. I love it when my gift is wrapped with sth special, I like to draw or put some ribbons on the gifts I'm giving too. But sometimes people just don't notice the wrapping and that gets on my nerves, really!! :p

  10. my moms really into gift wrapping and makes it all nice and fancy. i enjoy using old scraps of paper and making cards with old magazines. maybe its the hippie in me but buying all that paper just to cover a gift is pointless.
