On the Menu: Peanut Butter Roll

delicious candy recipe

On the Menu: Peanut Butter Roll, Only 3 Ingredients Whenever your want something sweet and delicious this is the treat for you. It is so easy and simple to make, really it only takes 3 ingredients! YES, that's right just 3! I love this soft, peanut butter treat. As a kid it was always my favorite candy and we would always have it around Halloween. Since Halloween is getting closer, I have really been thinking about this candy and wanting to make some for myself! As soon as you whip this up and share it with your friends, it is going to disappear quickly so buy enough ingredients to make two batches!

3 ingredient recipe

Ingredients
1 Container Whipped Vanilla Frosting (MUST BE WHIPPED)
1 Pound Powdered Sugar
Peanut Butter

Directions

1. Mix the powdered sugar and the frosting until well blended, I do this by hand instead of with a mixer.
2. Place wax paper on a flat surface and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Put the frosting mixture on it and roll it out flat.
3. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter over the frosting mixture. Jif is my go to brand, but you can use your favorite brand.
4. Rub powdered sugar on your hands and gently roll the candy up. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing. It should make 12-16 slices.
5. Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator.

Crispy White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

This is an extremely quick and easy treat to whip together. I made these for my sister because she loves buckeye candy, the ingredients are essentially the same, however, the construction time is drastically shortened. Unfortunately because of the tornadoes and storms in Kentucky last weekend she was unable to get here to try these but everyone else loved them.

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal
1 3/4 cups white chocolate chips

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a mini muffin pan with non-stick spray. Add a tablespoon of white chocolate chips into each cup. Melt the chips in the oven for about 5 minutes, keeping a close eye on it. Chocolate burns easily. With a spoon smooth the top the chips while they are still warm. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter and butter until smooth. add the powdered sugar and vanilla, mix until combined. Fold in the crispy rice cereal. 3. Drop the peanut butter mixture by heaping tablespoons into each mini muffin cup. Smooth a little with a spoon and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before eating. Peanut Butter Roll

Peanut Butter Roll has to be one of our favorite candies. In the past my family has tried numerous more difficult recipes never getting this candy to turn out just right. Our mom made this simple recipe up a couple weeks ago and it turned out perfect and so delicious.

Ingredients: Container of Whipped Vanilla Frosting (Must be Whipped)
Peanut Butter
1 lb Powdered Sugar

Directions:
1. Mix the powdered sugar with the frosting until well blended. 2. Place some wax paper on a flat surface. Sprinkle it with powdered sugar. Place the frosting mixture on the wax paper and roll out flat. 3. Evenly spread with a very thin layer of peanut butter. Choosy moms chose Jif, but feel free to use your favorite brand. 4. Put powdered sugar on your hands and slowly roll the candy up into a log. Make sure to be very care. The candy is delicate. 5. Refrigerate for 2 hours. 6. Slice log. Makes about 12-16 pieces. Keep this candy refrigerated.

Sweet and Sour?

One thing that I really love is candy. And really who doesn't? The candy hating population out has to be slim to none. Other than chocolate I really love Sour Patch Kids. Don't you just love those commericals? The ones were the sour patch kid does some thing mean (sour) to a kid or teen and then the sour patch kid is sorry (sweet)?

Photobucket

If you haven't seen one you need to youtube it or something and watch one. My favorite is the one where the red sour patch kid cuts off one of the girls pigtails while she is sleeping. Then she wakes up and is freaking out. Then you see the sour patch kid holding the scissors and her hair. Then it is sorry and she completely forgives and forgets and she hugs it.

I realize this post is completely random and out there, but I just ate some Sour Patch Kids and decided to blog about them. The green ones are my favorite followed by the red, then the orange, and last the yellow ones. So how do you feel about them?

Chocolate Heath Bar Cake

This is a yummy simple recipe. We got it from Cooks.com. It requires a little planning ahead because of the time needed to refridgerate it but if you have a family gathering coming up it would great cake to take along with you.

Ingredients * sorry forgot to get a picture of the ingredients
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 jar caramel topping
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 lg. carton Cool Whip
3 Heath candy bars, crushed

Directions
1. Mix and bake the cake as directed on the package.
2. Punch holes in the cake and pour the sweetened condensed milk and caramel topping over the cake. Allow cake to cool. 3. Spread Cool Whip on top and sprinkle with the crushed candy. 4. Refridgerate cake. We found that the longer the caramel and sweetened condensed milk were allowed to soak into the cake the better it tasted.

Happy Baking,
