Baby It's Cold Outside
With Winter approaching and the cold weather settling in I have been thinking more about warmth. This occurs to me especially in the mornings when I am leaving home for work. The mornings have been dark, frosty, and cold. I have to leave the warmth of my home to go out and scrap the frost off my car so that I can go to work. This made me recently purchase a new coat, but I also need some cold weather accessories. I do not like to be hot, but I also do not like being cold. I have also been sick and having chills because of this, which makes me think about being warm even more.

I want it all- scarves, gloves, and hats. This scarf would be perfect because it would be warm and it's a cheery color. When it comes to gloves, I am more for neutrals. I don't wear gloves as often as I do scarves and hats, so I want my gloves to be more versatile and to match more of my other clothing items. So all three pairs above would be perfect for me. What are your thoughts?

I have been obsessed with blanket scarves for the last couple years. I finally received one as a Christmas gift (this one to be more exact). Now I am at a bit of a loss on how to wear it. I was a little shocked holding it up how massive they really are (although the term "blanket" should have really implied what their size would be like). I have done a little searching on Pinterest and have found the photos above to use as styling inspiration. I really love the belted look. It makes the scarf a great alternative to a cape, don't you think?

Winter: Hats and Scarves
Staying warm during the Winter months can be a problem, especially if you plan to enjoy some snowy Winter fun. Building snowmen, having snowball fights, and going sledding (all things that I plan on doing) can get quite cold. Even on days when you aren't planning to be out and about in the snow for long periods of time, the temperature can get quite cold. So every girls needs a few winter hats and scarves in a drawer. While Tracy and I were in NYC, I picked up a new hat and a new pair of gloves for myself at C Wonder. They have adorable foxes on them and the hat has a pom pom! I also have a few solids at my disposal.

What I Wish I Was Wearing

What I Wish I Was Wearing
I am likely the only person in Kentucky who is borderline devastated by the weather forecasts calling for temperatures near or above 70 for the next several days. I mean, come on. It is fall. I want a crisp bite in the air that screams for layers and declares scarves a necessity. I love that the look above is very simple but also so chic. Dark wash jeans are a closet staple for me and now I am kind of convinced that I need a tailored burgundy blazer. A plaid blanket scarf has been on my wish list for the last couple months. Have you seen this scarf? I love it but am having a hard time deciding what color to purchase.

Stylish For Less: Infinity Scarves Under $40

It is hard to not love an infinity (or circle) scarf. They add so much depth to an outfit, are great for layering, and an easy way to create interest with a pop of color, texture, or pattern. For this #stylishforless post I have rounded up 6 infinity scarves under $40 including this one and this one which are my two favorites.

Gone Plaid

I am currently coveting a plaid scarf. The versatile pattern comes in so many colors, scales, and fabrics. Plus, a cozy plaid scarf seems like almost a necessity this time of year. This, this, and this are three of my favorite options.

Tie The Knot

I have recently come to recognize how much I under utilize scarves. They are an easy detail that can be used to add a fun splash of color or pattern to a look. I love how they take a simple ponytail or bun to another level. I have also begun tying them on my handbags. How is it that I have overlooked this detail for so long?

A simple accessory that can really change a look is a scarf. By choosing different colors, patterns, and materials you can use a scarf to make a look more delicate or use it to up the edge factor. Right now I am really into bright colorful scarves. Bright colors or patterns can help add some playfulness to your look. How you wear the scarf can affect the look too. Scarves are very versatile. You can use it as a fun headband, wear it around your neck, or a belt.

How do you feel about scarves? How do you wear them?
