Baby It's Cold Outside

Burberry Wool Scarf - Yellow Scarf pop of sunshine - Kate Spade Plaid Scarf - Pom Pom Beanie love the color - Leopard Beanie - Checked Beanie - Quilted Gloves - Metallic Dot Gloves - Kate Spade Bow Gloves adorable

Baby It's Cold Outside
With Winter approaching and the cold weather settling in I have been thinking more about warmth. This occurs to me especially in the mornings when I am leaving home for work. The mornings have been dark, frosty, and cold. I have to leave the warmth of my home to go out and scrap the frost off my car so that I can go to work. This made me recently purchase a new coat, but I also need some cold weather accessories. I do not like to be hot, but I also do not like being cold. I have also been sick and having chills because of this, which makes me think about being warm even more.

I want it all- scarves, gloves, and hats. This scarf would be perfect because it would be warm and it's a cheery color. When it comes to gloves, I am more for neutrals. I don't wear gloves as often as I do scarves and hats, so I want my gloves to be more versatile and to match more of my other clothing items. So all three pairs above would be perfect for me. What are your thoughts?

What to Wear: Sunhat

Straw Sunhat perfect for blocking the sun - Givenchy Beige Mousseline Nail Polish - Kate Spade Earrings adorable! - Floral Skater Dress love the colors - Kate Spade Palace Gems Necklace - Nude Envelope Clutch - Lavender Flats
What to Wear: Sunhat
During the warmer months everyone is spending more time out in the beautiful sunshine. One thing we all need to keep in mind is to protect our skin from the sun. SPF is a must and not just during the warmer months. Another way to block the sun is with a beautiful sunhat. I am a huge fan of the straw sunhats. They can be casual or more formal. I love the idea of wearing a gorgeous sunhat with a cute dress. It seems so feminine and girly to me. A sunhat would be perfect with this dress. What are your thoughts?

What To Wear: To The Kentucky Derby

What To Wear: To The Kentucky Derby
The Derby is a huge deal here in Kentucky. There are numerous events surrounding it, many celebrity sightings, and a lot of derby parties to attend. It is one of the few times that I believe fashion truly comes to the forefront in the state. It is important to look your best and that includes a derby hat. This hat is a cute little number to top off your look. The Derby would be the perfect place to wear this pink ruffle dress but great alternatives would be this scallop hem dress (only $22) or if you don't have to watch your budget this printed satin dress (so ladylike). Will you be attending the Derby or a Derby party this year?

Borrowing From The Boys: Baseball Hats
I haven't had a baseball cap since I was a kid and to be quite honest I really wasn't a fan of them back then. They were always too tomboyish to fit into my girly style but like many things in recent years my opinion on these hats is taking a 180. Especially now with so many new spins on this style of hat including leather, sequins, and fun colors I am discovering a new found love for this all-American classic. This (pretty pinks), this (lovely eyelet), this (fun florals), and this (more florals!) are some current favorites for the warmer weather.

Winter Hat Tricks

It has been a pretty bad winter here. Every time I turn on the news I hear weather reports of snow blasting certain areas of the country. It's been all snow, ice, and cold temperatures. I love the snow. It is so beautiful as it is falling from the sky and then it coats everything making a winter wonderland. While I am a fan of the snow, I do get tired of being stuck at home when the roads are bad. Here even after the snow and ice have stopped falling it takes a while (days) for the roads to be clear if the temperatures stay cold. So while snow days are fun too many of them in a row are bad.
This has definitely been a winter when you need to be bundled up if you are going out. One item that I love and find very versatile is a hat. Hats are perfect for wintery days. They help you stay warm and they are so cute. Depending on the type of hat you choose it could work for a casual look, work look, or a date look. I think the beanies with the pompoms are so adorable and perfect for casual looks. HERE Tracy recently posted about beanies with pompoms. She's a fan too. Felt hats are so sleek and stylish which make them perfect for going out. What are your thoughts on hats?

Hats Off

The Arctic blast last week definitely reminded me that we have a little over two months of Winter left. I have always felt kind of awkward wearing hats but with the temperatures set to take another huge dip next week I am considering the need to purchase a couple cute beanies preferably with a pompom. Two adorable and reasonably priced options are this and this.

Stylish For Less: Summer Hats Under $50

I have very fair, sensitive skin so Summer hats are crucial for me if I plan on spending any time outside. If you see me at a picnic, by the pool, or at the beach you are guaranteed to find me wearing a hat. Until recently I always felt that hats looked slightly awkward on me but I have decided that that was almost totally in my head and to embrace all added style a great hat can give an outfit. I tend to treat hats rough, always tossing them around and forgetting them at places so it is important to me that have #stylishforless hats. I have gathered together some of my current favorites including this one and this one. So tell me, are hats a Summer essential for you too?

Never FELT Better

Felt hats are stylish and sporty. You can wear them with any type of look. They are wonderful with a casual jeans look. They can be very chic with a nice pant suit or adorable with a cute dress. I think that how you wear your felt hat and what you wear it with will really depend on the style and what color it is. I really like the wide brim felt hats with casual looks or casual dresses. I think the smaller brimmed hats look the best with dressier looks, but again the style and color of the hat could completely change what it looks the best with. Also, it is a matter of personal style. You need to wear what you think looks the best. If you like what you wear you are more confident and it does not matter what anyone else thinks. Are you planning on buying a felt hat for this Fall or Winter?

Hats Off To You

Hats are a great accessory for summer. They are a stylish way to keep the sun out of your eyes and to give your look that something extra. You can find a hat for any situation, whether you are going to the beach or for an evening out on the town. When I think about summer hats, I inevitably think about straw hats. These women have definitely used hats to step their looks up to the next level.

Here I have a polyvore of some of my favorite summer hats.

Hats Off To You

I have to admit that after watching the wedding of Price William and Kate Middleton I have fallen in love with fascinators. Fascinators are hair accessories that may resemble small hats which are held in place by a band, clip, or comb.

While they are great to wear to formal events I hope to see more of them popping up on other everyday occasions like nights out with friends. I also think these are amazing for the bride looking for something a little different from a tiara or traditional veil.

Do you think fascinators are adorable too?

Spring Accessories

With Spring will come the shading of heavy Winter layers and the coming of attire more suitable for Spring weather. I have already been looking for some new clothes and accessories that I will want to wear this Spring. During my search I have concluded that there are some must have accessories for Spring.

Vintage Valise Marisa Crossbody

You definitely need a bag that is a more Spring-like color. This beautiful green is bright and cheerful, just like Spring should be.

Ettika Braided Silk Cord Bracelet

These bright beautiful bracelets would be a great addition to a Spring outfit. It would add a beach essence to any look.

Kenneth Jay LaneCoral Link Necklace

A must have is an accessory in a beautiful coral color and this necklace is just perfect for that.

Charles David Shoes

These shoes are unique and cute. With the cutouts in these shoes they are definitely not Winter wearable, but come Spring they would be perfect.

Right As Rain Hat

Of course you also need a cute hat to wear.

The only other things that I can think that I would add to the list are sunglasses and a skinny belt. What about you?

The Two Most Exciting Minutes In Sports

Today was the Kentucky Derby. It is a day when celebrities, the best horses in the world, and occasionally even royalty come to Churchill Downs to experience a Kentucky Tradition that began in 1875. Always held the first weekend in May it is known as the Run for the Roses. Today’s field included 20 horses. My bet was on the lone filly, Devil May Care. The last filly to win was Winning Colors back in 1988.

But the derby is about more than just the beautiful horses. There also the parties, the food, the hats, and the Mint Juleps. No fashionable lady goes to the derby without her hat. To many women it is the most important aspect of derby day and they began looking for their hats months ago. You want a hat that makes a statement and represents you.
The drink of choice at the derby is the Mint Julep. This year Tiffany created 73 Mint Juleps that were sold for $1,000 each. The profits went to charity. And the Juleps contained organic sugar from Brazil, 10,000 year old glacier ice from Alaska, Kentucky grown mint, and Woodford Reserve bourbon. This years winner was Super Saver.
