What To Wear: On A Snow Day

What To Wear: Snow Day
Cable Sweater (a favorite!) / Scarf / Coat / Pearl Necklace (classic) / Pave Stud Earrings / Emerald Ring / Pearl Ring (love this!) / Bow Beanie (adorable) / Gloves / Bucket Bag / Jeans

After having a snow storm that dropped more snow here than we have had since I was a little girl I have been enjoying snow days the last couple days. As a result I have been spending my time wearing chunky sweaters while curled up next to the fireplace, reading books including my book for book club, and eating hearty bowls of vegetable soup for dinner. Did you notice this pearl ring above? It is on the top of my wish list right now.

Are you fighting bitterly cold temperatures and tons of snow too?

Turtleneck Sweater Weather

Turtleneck Sweater Weather
With temperatures below zero here, I am loving my sweaters. I have worn several of my new sweaters lately and received compliments on them. My favorite is an emerald green one because I absolutely love the color. While I am getting good use of my sweaters right now, I do not own a turtleneck sweater. After seeing some and viewing more online, like the ones above, I am very interested in them. They look so cozy and comfy. I love how the one piece could work in so many different types of looks. I love the pairing with the tulle skirt. What are your thoughts on these sweaters?

What To Wear: Weekend Run To The Coffee Shop

what to wear to the coffee shop
What To Wear: Weekend Run To The Coffee Shop
Mixed Cable Knit Sweater (perfect chunky sweater) / Tortoiseshell Glasses / Initial Ring (only $12!) / NARS Lipstick - Cruising / How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are / Paris Street Style / Flats (chic and comfortable) / Clutch / Boyfriend Jeans (has a great fit!)

I cannot think of a better way to spend a weekend morning than spending time in a coffee shop, sipping a latte, and diving into a book or catching up with some friends. The delicious smells and the people watching alone make it a great way to spend a couple relaxing hours and aid in convincing me to drag myself out of bed. The above outfit is my ideal winter weekend wear. It is stylish but equally important comfortable. This sweater is cozy and slightly oversized in the best possible way. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love these flats (leopard print + pointed toe!) and these slim-leg boyfriend jeans have the perfect fit.

I'm curious. What is your go to coffee drink?

P.S. Since I am forever dreaming of visiting Paris and am obsessed with all things French this book and this book are two books I would love to read. Have you had a chance to read either one?

One of the things I love most about this time of the year is abundance of sweaters and opportunities to wear them. I have more sweaters in my closet than any other piece of clothing and each year happily add to my collection. Today's stylish for less is a round up of some beautiful sweaters under $50. I am really loving soft/pastel colors this year. How pretty is this mint sweater? Below are a few more of my favorite options.

Winter Blues

I really want to be focusing on sundresses, floral prints, and thin layer right now but with single digit temperatures and more snow on the ground than I remember having in recent years Spring still seems very far away. Since I am a little blue about Winter's determination to stick around awhile I used that for the inspiration for this post. Surprisingly blue is a color that is largely absent in my closet. If I were to pick up a few new items this blouse, these shoes, these earrings, and this iPhone case would be at the top of my list. Check out the rest of my favorites including these fun sunglasses below.

Sweater Worthy Weather

This cold weather recently has been the perfect time for cozy sweaters. When I think of sweaters I think of warmth and comfort. Sweaters are an excellent layering piece. They can easily be worn over a tee or button up top. Even though there are a ton of sweaters out there in various colors, designs, and prints, I find myself drawn more to the fun prints. I love love LOVE the black sweater above that has the red cats in it. It is adorable and so me. Do you wear a lot of sweaters in the winter? Are you more of a solid color or more into the fun prints?

What To Wear: To Stay Warm

The temperatures have became so frigid the last couple weeks that I dread any time I need to go outside and I have been struggling to stay warm. Sweaters have been my friend lately and I love a good cable knit. Pair it with jeans and a warm coat and you have my uniform lately. Have you been dealing with snow, ice, and freezing temperatures too?

Stylish For Less: Sweaters Under $50

The temperatures are still very warm here in the afternoons but as it has been a complete icebox in my office the last two weeks I am officially declaring it sweater weather. For my #stylishforless picks this week I have rounded up 7 great options all under $50. I would pair this leopard sweater with a black pencil skirt for the office and maybe it is because I am borderline "crazy cat lady" (meet Tiger here) but this sweater would be perfect weekend wear for me. Have the temperatures dipped enough for you to start wearing sweaters yet? Do you have a favorite from the ones below?

What To Wear: To Welcome Fall

One of my favorite things about Fall is cozy sweaters like this fun camel sweater. I also see Fall as a time for wearing jeans whenever possible. This nail polish would be the perfect way to complete this #whattowear to welcome Fall look. I have happily been shopping for new Fall pieces. What have you added to your closet for this season?

Favorite Fall Sweaters

Sweaters are investment pieces for me. Each year I look forward to brisk days that invite snuggling into cozy knits. This season I'm looking for knits that include leather details, sequins, and stripes rounded off with a couple whimsical sweaters for causal days. Are you enjoying the cooler temperatures as much as me?

Elbow Room

This time of year I am usually obsessed with sparkly dresses, but instead my brain is occupied with elbow patches. Whether on sweaters or blazers the patches will make any outfit a bit more modern and fun. Maybe it's the equestrian touch or the tribute to the geeky professor tbut there is no denying that elbow patches are a classic detail.

Thin knit sweaters are a must have item for this Fall. They easily provide that extra little bit of warmth that you need on cool Fall mornings or evenings. They can also be layered, so that you can pull them off during the warmer part of the day when they are not needed or have them to easily slip on when it gets cooler. I also love all of the different patterns and colors. Thinner sweaters are great for layering because they are light and aren't going to weigh you down. I love a great layered look.
