Put A Ring On It: Anjolee Review
Anjolee recently sent me the earrings pictured above. I could not be more impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship of these earrings. Plus, they sparkle so much! After my earrings arrived I sat down and had another look at Anjolee's website. I could not stop swooning over the stunning collection of diamond wedding bands available. I have rounded up in the collage below some of my favorite wedding and anniversary rings from Anjolee.

Chit Chat

I am a hopeless romantic. I get weepy during chick flicks (does anyone actually what the last scenes of My Best Friend's Wedding without getting teary eyed?), stories that end with the phrase "happily ever after" are my favorites, and I believe in soul mates and butterflies. So it makes perfect sense that I love everything about weddings, the gathering of friends and family, the romance, the pretty dresses, the abundance of flowers, and the sweets.

Over the weekend my sister got married. The entire event was beautiful and took place at the Red Mile and the reception was held at the historic Round Barn. Coming on the heels of my sister's wedding I thought it would be fun to know what your wedding was like if you are married (and would you do anything differently) and if you are not married please share what your dream wedding would be like.

I am someone who loves tradition and would typically describe myself as being a person drawn to lavish over the top glamorous things but as I have gotten older my idea of a dream wedding has become in a sense more simplistic and intimate. My dream wedding would take place some where special and memory making like Paris or one of the thousands of beautiful places in Italy. I picture being surrounded by only a handful of very close family members and friends. Also breaking from the traditional white gown, I would love a dress in pale pink or blush and maybe Elie Saab inspired (like these or this). My bouquet would be simple and include Sweet William flowers (maybe similar to this or this) which are my favorite and were given to me by my Papaw who passed away when I was a child. I would like for us to write our own vows and after the ceremony to treat our guests to a hearty meal that would hopefully include lots of cheese, pasta, and crusty breads (my favorite foods) in a candlelight restaurant.

Jessica's dream wedding would take place in a wintry, snow covered landscape during Winter with the ceremony occurring on a twinkling white light covered gazebo. She images being dressed in an ivory ballgown (similar to this) completely lacking of anything sparkly. Her wedding would also involve a horse drawn sleigh and a bouquet of white Ranunculus (like this).

Now it is your turn. Please share.

Wedding Bells: A Wedding Gift Guide

Maybe brides to be hate this but I have never been one to shop from gift registries. I love shopping for gifts (maybe even more than I love receiving them) and purchasing something from a gift registry takes all of the fun out of finding something special for someone you care about. Since we are in the middle of wedding season I have put together a Wedding Gift Guide to share a few of my current favorites for the happy couple you may know who are tying the knot this Summer. I like wedding gifts to be useful but also very pretty like coffee pot for breakfast in bed or weekend brunches or this serving platter. I also have always felt like monogram items like this cake stand and this table runner are special wedding presents. Most of these items I would really love to own myself, like this and this. Do you have go to items that you love giving as wedding gifts? Do you typically shop from wedding registries when purchasing for the soon to be husband and wife?

Going to a Wedding

Last week I did a #whattowear post for what to wear to a wedding. That post only gave one idea, so I thought I would bring you some more options. Instead of doing the whole look, I found four incredibly beautiful dresses. Each of these dresses would be perfect to wear for a wedding. You only need to add some heels or flats and a few accessories and you would be ready to go. While, I love all of these dresses, my favorite would have to be the blush dress with black dots. Which is your favorite?

What to Wear: Wedding

Wedding season is upon us once again. In next few months most of us will attend at least one wedding. I know Tracy and I already have one marked on the schedule, because our sister Tiffany is getting married!
When it comes to weddings, everyone has their favorite part. For some people it is the cake, but for me it is seeing the bride. The wedding dresses are always so beautiful and the bride is styled to perfection. Everyone knows the bride will be in a wedding dress, but how are you supposed to dress for the date?
First of all, how you dress for the wedding depends on the type of wedding. Is it going to be a formal wedding with all of the friends and family dressed up or an informal wedding where the friends and family can dress a little more casual? My #whattowear post for this week is about dressing for a formal wedding.

In Small Doses

I typically do not follow the philosophy that "less is more" but these images of Baby's Breath are stunning. Typically only destined to be filler flowers these dainty little blooms really shine on their own. These understated flowers create billowing clouds when bundled together that look romantic and elegant. I may need to question my continuous reliance on Peonies, Sweet Williams, and Cabbage Roses. What is your favorite flower?

Sponsor Post: A Perfect Outfit for a Beach Wedding

If you are in the process of planning a beach wedding, I am sure you are excitedly dreaming of a ceremony on the sand with the ocean in the background. Beach themed weddings produce a grand affair while taking place in a casual setting for a wedding. One question facing brides and grooms is what to wear during their beach wedding. An unique aspect for ceremonies occurring at the beach is that light, casual clothing is extremely acceptable.

Outfit For the Men
Men have extensive options. Men have the privilege of putting on a suit that will make them look good and also feel very relaxed and comfortable. Men will look dashing in a simple light linen suit in white or coffee shade. Linen suits are a wonderful option because they are breathable and cool which will aid in keeping them from getting too hot. Male guests are free to wear slacks and a polo-shirt. If the wedding has a has a Hawaiian or tropical theme men can absolutely wear something more colorful and bright like a Hawaiian floral shirt.
Outfit For the Women
The bride, just like her bridesmaids, should look for dress that will fit for the entire setting and the entire mood of the wedding ceremony. Since beaches are usually associated with light breezy afternoons and carefree attitude, many brides choose light, gauzy dresses, though some of them still prefer traditional and formal wedding gowns. A popular look for beach weddings is shorter gowns as they prevent sand get on the dress. Also popular for beach weddings are sleeveless and off-shoulder dresses. Moreover, many brides choose colorful dresses for a beach ceremony instead of opting for a traditional white, taking an advantage of casual atmosphere and tropical colors.
If you are not a part of the wedding party, you can wear a simple light, free and airy dress, maybe the one with floral print. Here again, linens and pastel colors are wonderful choice. Finally, if you are making a destination wedding in a tropical location, be sure to take your bathing suit with you!

Unconventional Bride

A couple weeks ago I went dress shopping with my sister for her upcoming wedding and I saw many simply stunning traditional dresses. While these dresses were beautiful and would make any girl feel like a princess I think if the day comes that I'm shopping for my own wedding dress I will not go the white gown route, instead I will be choosing an unconventional color (likely blush). I'm also rather smitten with the polka dot gown above. Would you consider wearing a nontraditional gown at your wedding?

Blushing Bride

These are a few pictures we took Saturday while helping our sister dress shop for her wedding next year. A day full of dress shopping beginning with a 4:30 am wake up call made for an exhausting day but everyone loved looking at the lacy dresses and sparkly accessories. Plus, our sister looked beautiful. Since her wedding is a little over a year away she is just in the beginning stages of planning her wedding. We would love any tips you have in helping the wedding planning go smoothly. Also, any tips for hosting and planning a wedding shower would be greatly appreciated.

Going To The Chapel

While looking through hundreds of pictures of pink dresses I stumbled across these beautiful wedding gowns that I had to share with you. Walking down the aisle is not in my immediate future, however, I am positive that if it were my wedding gown would be in blush or a beautiful soft pink. Pink is ultra feminine and has been my favorite color my entire life. While traditional white gowns can be stunning I would want something with a little more uniqueness, that more adequately expresses my personality.

Say Yes to the Dress

Last weekend I went to try on dresses for a friends wedding. I am going to be one of her bridesmaids. Trisha, the bride, has selected a beautiful dress for herself. Sorry to say that I do not have a picture of it to show you, because it was purchased earlier. We were meeting just to look for the bridesmaids dresses, there are four of us, and for the maid of honor's dress. These dresses are going to be the same style but in different colors. We went to a really nice place to look for these dresses. They even offered us some wine!

I had never tried wine before and I do not know what we were given. While it is very pretty, I thought it tasted nasty. So after a sip I was done with my wine and sat it back down.

While the other girls and I were trying on dresses for Trisha to see, my sister, who is not in the wedding, was walking around looking at all of the beautiful things in the shop. She snapped the following pictures.

This place, called the Rose Tree, had everything from wedding dresses, to prom dresses, to accessories, to everyday wear. So while we ended up not getting any dresses (because some of the bridesmaids do not understand that this is NOT their wedding) we had a great time and saw some very beautiful things.
